Love it BUT
Love your game... My kids play games constantly and I wanted to play too but could never find one I liked... Thanks to u now I can play also... I grew up in a Rook playing family so I love the game and your version is fantastic however there are a couple of issues BUT there is one major problem... PLEASE try to fix the fact that the single player partner will not put points on a hand when it is obvious that the other team is drawing out the Rook!!!!! If the person who won the bid leads the red one then follows with the 13 u know he doesn't have the rook etc ... This happens in other cases also... Similar issues at other times ...but this one is the most extremely frustrating issue... Their are lots of instances when my partner should have put points out in case I have the high card but he DOES NOT / will not put points on unless he can see I have the high card... In other words he is playing behind me and not before. Thanks again for the game...
Single player outcomes are largely pre-determined
I'll give credit where it's due - 4-player (no AI) is great, basically due to the mechanics and structure of the game itself. However, in single player you can often predict exactly who will win a particular trick based on history. The most common case of this is if you or your AI partner leads with a non-trump 1, the opponent will have short-suited himself about 98% of the time and will trump it. Similar situations happen frequently but this scenario happens nearly every time. And, if an AI (opponent or partner) leads on the first trick, they almost always lead with a 1, and therefore, this scenario happens. This may be a limitation of programming artificial intelligence with the ability to strategize - I'm not a programmer so I don't know. But if there is a way to address this, please fix soon so I will enjoy playing again!
Great job Andrew, just a few things need fixed.
First and foremost I want to thank Andrew for developing a very fluid and customizable version of Rook. I've recently picked up Rook and I've enjoyed having the opportunity to play it on my phone. Couple of issues, I feel like hands are typically very easy to guess, as my partner drops far too early, second, is there a way to implement "shoot the moon" into the game? Third, I would like a slider to raise the difficulty. I want bids to be in the 100s sometimes and that never happens in this game.
