Really, every blackBook is personal and how you use yours is entirely up to you.
Ways to create an entry in blackBook.
1) When on the go - Click the camera button in the main view to snap a photo (or choose one from your photo library if you're on your iPod Touch). A new entry is made from the photo and saved into "All Items" category for editing later.
2) When not on the go - Choose/create a category. Create an entry
Create your own categories and sort entries in blackBook accordingly.
You can even move entries between different categories!
We use our iPhone's camera alot.
Whenever we need a reminder of what to buy, a collection of what we've been eating to bus time tables (so that we won't miss the last bus and have to walk home) to places of where we've been parking our car.
Sometimes a simple photo isn't enough, and scrolling through the thousand photos in our photo library searching for the right one can be an adventure in itself.
Our main objective for blackBook is to combine photos, note-taking and organization.
But as we developed blackBook, we found that this was an extremely versatile combination!
We have been using it to learn Japanese, type in recipes, catalog our stuff, plan a party and even mail out party invitations!
So, how you use it is really up to you.
We love our app and we are always looking to improve blackBook.
Please drop us a line if you have something you would like to see in the next update.
What's New in Version 1.2
updated for iOS4
I LOVE the concept of this app, I just wish it was more functional. I'd like to be able to group pictures together and be able to flip/slide through them. I'm using this to make social stories for my daughter. Social stories a simple picture books used to help children with special needs remember and review appropriate social behavior. I love that I can take pictures of her in social situations and write a story right on them. It would be so helpful to be able to scroll through a group of photos (like all the steps for going potty or a new routine for school) without having to exit an item. If I could do that I would give 5 stars in a heartbeat. I have high hopes for an update!!
Great appt! But add a feature?
I have been looking for an app like this in the business card category! I just need to be able store snap shots of business card with a few notes and without sending data to my contact list. This is great. But the feature to select pictures from my camera roll is not offered. I would like to be able to pull in pictures I had already taken. I'm thinking about printing the and taking new pictures.
I like that I can store my photos in categories of my own choosing, organize them in any order I want, write notes about them, and swap the items between my different categories. I only wish I could passcode protect some of my categories and that the developers would make an iPad update, though. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to contact them that works.
