Ratings and Reviews
Concept good - Application poor
I’ve read The Blade since 1977. When home delivery ceased this app was my only option. Although I have plenty of data transfer, the app will sit for minutes “Loading”, or a message will appear needing a response, which does not do anything when pressed. Inquiry on assistance to resolve problems have gone unanswered. The app is very “buggy” and not up to the standard I would expect. The concept and intent is good. However, the technical deployment falls well below what I would expect.
I Like To Read The Whole Paper But Find Parts Missing in This App
I like the old Toledo Blade app—it’s like reading a newspaper, this one is not. I also can’t find some of the articles in this app—or the full obituaries, this one just lists the names and makes you click on each one to read them.
I sort of like the layout and design, with a semi-transparent article over large images. It looks sleek and modern. I used the app for about 10 minutes and read one day's news. The problem is that after 10 minutes of use the app froze. It turns out that this app, at a download size of 25MB after 10 minutes of use had a documents size of over 700MB and my iPad was complaining about a lack of space... This local news app was literally the largest app on my iPad! It needs some work... and unfortunately it is not ready for prime time. For now, I have deleted it.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
