BLE Discovery is an app to find and visualize data about Bluetooth low energy (LE) – also known as Bluetooth 4 – devices. The app allows the user to discover nearby BLE devices; in particular the app has been conceived to help developers detect and measure signal strength of Bluetooth Low Energy devices and iBeacons.
The app gives the user the following informations about found devices:
- advertising data (local name, data channel, connection status)
- RSSI (signal strength).
The app also has a detailed view for the selected device with a nice graph that displays the strength of the signal over time (up to 60 seconds with both real time data values and a 3 sec. rolling average), allowing the developer to test functionalities of iBeacons and their operating range.
For each discovered device, the app allows to list related services and characteristics (with their UUIDs).
Finally the app allows easy sharing of collected data via email.

Found my FitBit!
I read about this app on MacStories the other week and downloaded it "just in case"... and then today I lost my FitBit One while doing yard work. D'ohh!
After panicking a bit, I remembered this app, walked around while watching the graph of BlueTooth signal strength, and found my FitBit! Awesome!
Found my Leaf!
Thank you for making this app! I thought I lost my Leaf (Smart jewelry with GPS and such) but I was able to find it using this app. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I knew it was somewhere in the house cause I could sync ... but where? This app and some slow walking around led me to it!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
