Do you like the contented purring and the relaxing effect of a cat?
- But there is no one at hand when you want to relax a bit?
- You'd like to have a cat but you are allergic?
- Or are you simply a bad guy who wants to feel like Mr. Blofeld while seeking for world domination?
Whatever your motivation is, this App will meet your needs and help you relax a bit in your stressful everyday life!
Simply pet the pelt on the display in a smooth and pleasing way and after a short moment your virtual cat will start to purr contentedly.
Double tap the screen to choose from one of four different pelts and enjoy the pleasant purring.
Blofeld works great on the iPhone with its built-in speakers. iPod users need their headphones or external speakers.
Great for entertainment
For only a buck, the author has created an amusement that also showcases some interesting programming techniques, including directional stroking, increasing volume as time and strokes increase, and some cute selection animation. But beyond the simple coding, the app is just fun. Among other things, it provides a quick jolt of fun if a conversation is stalled at dinner. Whip out the iPhone and ask your friends and family if they'd like to pet your phone. If you can handle the "you're a freak" expressions, you're bound to kill 15 minutes in a non-confrontational way. Besides, it's only a buck. Have fun and encourage authors to be creative. After all, you'd pay a buck for a song, so why not a fun program? The laughs alone are worth it.
Very nice concept, but the app needs more work. Animation of the fur so that it reacts to your touch would go far to making the feel app polished, or intermittent rippling to reflect an animal shifting its weight. I thought that the purring audio gets too loud too quickly and/or is too harsh. This concept is very original and makes good use of the iPhone hardware. I think that this app shows potential as a virtual worry stone or as part of a larger pet simulator app.
Exactly how my great old orange tabby sounded(sans looping noise). He would get louder and even gurgle a bit when he was really into it. Purr-to-pet ratio needs to be larger, to make it a little less labor-intensive to achieve desired effect. Otherwise it's ahhhh soo relaxing. No kitty litter, waking you up in the middle of the night or inpromptu dragging of your sweats out of the hamper to parade in front of company.
