Vindictive if you don't spend $$

I'd like to give it a better review... The story was good; the art was good; the charm/ game$ boosting game was time consuming, but easy to win; chaps awarded every 4 hours, max 5 at a time. All in it was a nice 'playable for free' Otome game, EXCEPT... It was designed to take advantage of the impatient with exorbitant game$ costs at check points (the final one was $10,000 in a game where $200 is the average check in bonus). Granted there are other ways to get game$, but they take time and add up slowly).

The final straw for me, however, was the grand finale. During the game you earn points toward 1 of 2 special endings, but what happens if you are short points? No problem, you can buy the difference, but for this - real $ ONLY. And if you don't? Well, you don't earn a sappy, uneventful happy ending for all your efforts. No, you earn a full on TRAGEDY! **SPOILER ALERT** [The FINN story gets you a destroyed village, sister turned to monster before your eyes and the heroine dying in her beloved's arms!] **END OF SPOILER**

If that's not a vindictive way to say you refused to spend real $, so we are going to make it hurt, I don't know what is. So I f you don't intend to spend real $ and you're either impatient or don't like tragedies, skip this one. If you don't mind tragedies or are willing to spend real $$, then you might like it.

Fun, but it comes with a cost

This game is really enjoyable. The character designs are unique, the soundtrack is pretty decent, the stories brings the player into a whole other world, and so much more!
The thing that’s aggravating is that you have to spend money to get coins, which can buy you avatar items and the premium stories, not to mention that you need to buy suncatchers and/or dreamcatchers if you don’t have enough points. The farewell endings are gut-retching and full of despair, which is a terrible ending for your character!
But another game from the Shall We Date? series is Lost Alice, and the coins in Blood + Roses are exactly like the Lapis in Lost Alice, except you can earn one Lapis from a login bonus and five more if you complete the daily mission. I think that Blood + Roses should have that mechanic implemented into its game so that the player doesn’t have to endure the nuisance of having to buy coins at a high cost.

Not the Best

Frozen Flower

Let me start off by saying that this is not Solmare's finest work. If you are expecting it to be, you are going to be disappointed. You would be better off playing some of their more popular games.

The main problem with this dating sim is it's story. Unlike many of the other games out there, this is a plot line that you have...probably seen before. The basic rundown is that girl is kidnapped by vampires, vampires plan to turn girl, and then things progress from there depending upon the route you choose. We've seen this a MILLION times and this...doesn't really add anything to it. It's a fairly bland storyline- one which admittedly doesn't even make sense at times- and takes away from the game.

Outside of that, the game functions like most Solmare games. The only real difference is that you will be aiming for one of two possible ends obviously have to be careful about since points and all that jazz.

As someone who is not even that picky about the games they play, I freely admit that there are much better games to choose outside of this, and even from Solmare! The characters themselves aren't that interesting at times and the story isn't that interesting. That kind of defeats the purpose of playing a dating sim. In the end, you are really just staring at pretty pictures >>
