Download not working

Trying to download. Not downloading

Downloads not working properly

Nice app but there is an issue with the downloads. Just subscribed yesterday and had no issue with downloading the first issue. The flow of the app is nice, although a little difficult to figure out at first. The problem came after I received the notification of the next issue available today. It would download to 99% (according to the progress bar) and then hang there. Canceling the download and restarting did not work nor did restarting the device or anything like that. I finally got the download working after deleting the app, reinstalling it, and restoring my purchase. I’m not sure what will happen going forward with the next issue but I suppose this is a workaround for now, although inconvenient. A good app with good content if the developers can get the downloads right.

Update - The downloading issue continues to happen with each new issue released. I have to delete the app, reinstall it, then restore the subscription purchase in order to get an issue to download. Once an issue is downloaded, I can’t download another. I also can’t contact support about this because they provide a dead link to a support page (nice touch, way to be on top of things).

This is what magazine apps should be

I've been a Businessweek print subscriber for several years, so this was one of the first apps on my iPad2. I like how seamlessly they have integrated audio and video into the app while still maintaining the essence of the print magazine. I can easily switch between the print and digital versions. Sure, eliminating the popup ads between sections would be nice, but advertising is part of the publication business and the digital version already has far fewer ads than the print version, so why complain? My absolute favorite feature, however, is the ability to "clip" and save individual articles for future reference -- even after deleting the issue from which the article was clipped. Digital access is free for print subscribers as it should be, and they got it right the first time: I'm not harassed every other week with a new update to fix more bugs. This app fully deserves a five-star rating, as it sets the standard to which all other custom-built magazine apps should aspire.
