Excellent classical and jazz programming
Worth it for Bonnie's, Foley's, and Lazaro's programs alone, tune in to a tasteful blend of classical, opera, chamber, and jazz every day from Blue Lake. All news/talk public radio formats cause anxiety and stress to the listener -- too much bad news is too much! Instead, get back to the music. Blue Lake gives us everything public radio should be about: exploring new music, hearing treasured favorites, the symphony series on weeknights, and the endless variety every day. If you are not within terrestrial FM range (88.9 or 90.3 MHz in West Michigan), this app is a fine substitute for receiving the programming.
I have listened to Blue Lake Public Radio for several years and listen to it in my car. I'm so glad that I can now listen on my iPod touch too. The app runs with great efficiency. I would suggest though for there to be a like and a dislike button just like in the Pandora app so as to keep Blue Lake Public Radio informed on what music the public is enjoying and not enjoying.
I've used this app for nearly 2 years. Great for jazz at bedtime and NPR in the morning. The alarm clock works well, and my only wish is for a snooze alarm for bedtime, too. I live in Virginia now and love this small connection to life in Michigan.
