Use Facebook, Twitter, calendar and other vehicle-related functions with ease in your BMW.
With BMW Connected, BMW drivers can safely and easily access general and vehicle-related functions during, before and after making a journey with their BMW. This requires a BMW vehicle equipped with the special feature 'Apps' or 'ConnectedDrive Services' (varies according to model and market). For compatible smartphones, see www.bmw.com/bluetooth.
To use a BMW Connected app in your BMW, connect the smartphone to the car using either the snap-in adapter or the USB connection in the centre console, and run the connection assistant, which you will find in the Connected Drive menu.
*** Note: Due to a change in iOS 7, switching between apps using the iDrive system is currently limited. ***
Facebook & Twitter
Displays the latest status messages, personal favourites, and community trends in your car. Moreover, pre-defined texts which are able to access current vehicle information can be sent during the journey.
Receive innumerable radio stations in your BMW through your iPhone. Use search functions to select genre, country and favourite stations.
Display calendar entries in your car and call meeting-participants whenever you need to. Appointment details can be read out through the audio system. Addresses stored in calendar entries can be exported into the optional navigation system as destinations.

Access the latest news at any time from your RSS news feeds.
ECO PRO analyser
Rates your driving style and gives you advice as to how to drive even more efficiently. It only works in automobiles fitted with the latest generation of the navigation system Professional (depending on series, from 7/2012) and the navigation system Business (depending on series, from 11/2013). What is more, the ECO PRO Analyser is not supported by the following models: all BMW M and BMW i models, and BMW models without the ECO PRO mode.
Last mile navigation
Transfers your navigation destination and the position data of your car to your smartphone and continues your navigation even after you have left the vehicle. Makes it easy to find your car when returning to it at your destination.
The application is displayed in the car in the language configured for the vehicle.
An Internet connection is required. This can incur costs (for example due to roaming) in accordance with the contract concluded between the customer and the network operator. Please observe national requirements and conditions specific to the country you are in.
Restricted functionality is possible in the event of insufficient data transfer speed and with volume-based bandwidth restrictions of the network operator. Moreover, it is possible that selected functions based on services supplied by third-party providers will not be available at all times or may be subject to change. The specific conditions of these providers must be observed.
For the aforementioned reasons, BMW is unable to warranty unrestricted compatibility and functionality of your mobile device in combination with the vehicle interface.
What's New in Version 2.4.0
•New 'Further Apps' tab with all BMW Connected-ready apps
•iOS 7 updates
This app used to work great with my iPhone 4s running iOS 6 snapped into the connector in the console. Since upgrading to the iPhone 6 running iOS 8 and now using the lighting cable hooked into the USB port, this app says it’s connected, but after a few minutes of use, the car shows it as disconnected, yet the app says I’m still connected. The only way around it is to unplug, replug, and wait for it to reconnect. For the price of the options on BMW vehicles to run this app, the app should be absolutely flawless. Reviews on here show it’s needed fixing since it was last updated in May. Why is it now September with absolutely no update?! BMW, shame on you. Those reading this review, don’t waste your time on this piece of garbage app.
BMW overall needs to maintain their apps better being their tech is designed for apple. This app works but when you leave the app to do something else you get disconnected from what is running (i.e.pandora). It should just transition to Bluetooth so your music is uninterrupted. To get pandora back you need to go to the pandora app on your phone and hit play. BMW needs to stay ahead of software updates. The BMW genius app which is useful for new owners like me doesn't work at all. I'm just surprised given the BMW brand, the fact the car tech was built for apple and the excellent tech in the car itself. Pull it together folks.
Be ready to be disappointed
Whoever is giving this app anything more than one star is obviously work for BMW. The app is completely useless. When I bought my first BMW the salesman pointed out as an amazing app. It was a huge disappointment. Not even the updates for iPhone 6, which I thought will make BMW correct the colossal fail in this app, made it. It even lacks Bluetooth technology for connectivity to the BMW app. I stopped using the app back in 2012 and today (January 2015) the experience is the same: horrendous. I cant believe that companies like ford and Toyota which produce cheaper cars have better technology in their car panels that my BMW. I still hope that a major update can happen soon.
