This application is intended to test and demonstrate communication capabilities between an iPad and a Boca Systems Thermal Ticket printer equipped with a Bluetooth, Ethernet or Wi-Fi interface. The infrastructure Wi-Fi connection can be established through a Wi-Fi capable router, using the printers hard cable Ethernet interface or via Wi-Fi interface in the printer. Functional tests can be performed to print an FGL test ticket, a custom marketing ticket or a monochrome BMP image. Color BMP, PNG, JPG and PDF images are now converted to monochrome BMP images and then printed, scaled to fill a ticket or actual size. With a third party driver communication application installed on a network, the Driver Print option will allow a user to print through a printer driver to any Boca Systems printer installed on that network. The application can be used to send text strings and text files to the printer included FGL commands. Status can also be retrieved from the printer to ascertain the printers current state. The images can be dithered during conversion or not. This feature can be controlled by the user. Other features include the ability to control the printer path (multi path printers), DPI resolution settings, orientation and stock size.
Newly supported SDK functions include downloading images as logos with an associated logo number. This way an image only has to be transmitted to the printer once and stored in printer flash memory (user space). It can then be referenced by logo number and printed as many times as needed, quickly. The ability to clear user space also supplied. Also any pdf and text files transmitted to the iPad can be associated with the application based on file extensions *.pdf and *.txt, via the application sandbox. These files can now be selected from a picker view. Print cut and print no cut functions also added.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
