Great alternative to lesser bus services


I have used bolt for a few years now, and I have to say, it is by far my favorite way to travel. I have only travelled between LA and SF, so I can only speak for that particular route, but let me tell you, they are ALWAYS on time, friendly, and courteous. I like how they arrange the boarding by letter and number, it feels organized and thought out. The outlets have worked 99% of the time, and so does the wifi. The seats are comfortable and the space is decent. As far as the app is concerned, I do enjoy it. I wish there was a way to reset my billing address though so I don't have to keep retyping it in(I have since moved from the address they keep autofilling). Anyway, I recommend boltbus to all my friends and family, and would suggest it to you too!

This Review is About The App Only


The Bolt Bus service is great; I use it frequently. But the app needs improvement. Given how long the app has been around, there are things it should do that it doesn’t: (1) keep you logged in after the app has closed, (2) aloe you to use TouchID to login, (3) allow you to alter your ticket rather than force you to call an agent, and (4) place your ticket in Apple Wallet. It used to do the latter, but the ability to store tickets in Apple Wallet hasn’t worked in a while, whether under iOS 10.x or 11.x. If the folks at Bolt read this, please invest some time and money into improving your app to match your great service.

Keeps crashing, no new updates since June


Pops up asking for folks to sign-in every time, even when users select "Remember Me".

App effectively loads and displays available route options for users, but when you select to add it to your cart, the app crashes. I haven't been able to use the app to purchase tickets for months, and have to use the mobile/full site in a browser since the app won't allow me to compete the sale. App also seems to not load/update with new dates as routinely as the browser site. One would think a transportation app as big as BoltBus would be updated and monitored for bugs for regularly than every 3-6 months.
