Ratings and Reviews
Fantastic time waster.
I mean that in the most complimentary way possible.
This addictive gem of a game is a fairly authentic throwback replica of Atari missilecommand... one of my fave games of all time. The gameplay feels just as I remember minus the trackball controller.
This game is the perfect killer of boredom in 5ish minute increments.
Why not 5 stars you ask?
There is a high score ceiling and I’ve hit it a handful of times. I’ve also crushed the top all time kill ratio and completed all the achievements. Would love an update or new challenge of some kind.
Also.. what makes this game crash? Graphics are single color, basic animations and bare bones all around. The UI couldn’t be less complex and there’s no music... there is basically nothing visibly happening to cause memory crashes on any iphones released In the last 5 years. Is something else happening under the hood or in the background using up lots of ram?
Maybe it’s not so ‘free’ after all...
Developer Response ,
Hi That0neGuyB, thanks for the great review. I will look into the issues of high score ceiling, but because I am working on another game, I might not be able to do it very soon. I will also try to look into the crashing issue, but to be honest, I have never experienced any crashes, since I don't reach very high scores myself :) The game might seem basic, but there are many things going on with particle systems (especially the smoke and the explosions) perhaps the Unity engine on which the game is built on can't keep up when there are too many things. In any case, there is nothing hidden in the game code for tracking or advertisements or anything of the like, I am not convinced that games should have this.
Game continues to have delayed response when too much is going on on the screen ie one missile taking out multiple targets and missiles do not reload fast enough. Stopped playing because it stopped keeping track of my score after a week of it not changing.
Fun distracting retro
Retro Atari like missile command but so how not as complex. There is great potential in improvements. Looking forward to updates
