Easy scanning, app updates often

I tried LibraryThing but it was clunky and ugly. Unless it's an older book, adding a book with this app with the scanner & autofill takes about 30 sec! Now my library is always with me and I can quckly scan a book I see if I want to remember it. The developer is often putting out updates, so they seem to really care. Also, this app leaves the barcode scanning to a separate app. Based on some other library apps, this is a good thing. Other apps try to have their own scanner, which seems to fail. This app leaves scanning to a "specialist" by partnering with a different, free, app do the work (you don't have to open the 2nd app-BookCrawler uses it from within).
UPDATE: It now lets you choose from a couple of scanner options, but I've always stuck with the original partner it suggested -it works really well and often successfully scans the barcode before I even get it aligned properly. (pic2shop) I was amazed how well the scanner works, and yet so many other apps seem to have complaints about their scanner making wrong-readings and slow-readings.

HINT: Remember to WAIT until the "internet activity" whirly icon is finished before moving on to the next book (the secondary info fills in a moment after the title/author, so you should wait a sec) (However, if you didn't wait, you can just use the update all-library-info feature).

I absolutely love this app! I've been wanting something like this for a long time. It has so many features that are helpful to me. I love being able to scan the books and have the cover added to my entry, and also the number of the book if it's in a series. I like being able to indicate if I have read it. I like having the number of books by each author listed. I can double check my shelves to see if that number agrees with my entries. I have purchased the same book several times, now that won't happen. I also like the manual feature of entering the book because I have some old books that don't have ISBN numbers. And then being able to take a picture of the cover, or if it doesn't have a cover, go online and get a picture to add it to the entry. I also like the feature that tells me the total number of books I have entered for all authors. And, I like the comment section for each title because the books that have numerous characters can get confusing. I can make a list of all the characters to refer back to when I can't recall who a particular character is. Or, if I want to finish a series later, I can refer back to the previous book's comments section. I have several thousand books, so this app is marvelous. Oh, how I love this app! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

This app just keeps getting better and better!

I have been using the app Book Crawler to keep track of my many books (too many, my wife says) for the last year and a half, and it just keeps getting better and better. The newest version, 3.1.1 adds several features.
Book Crawler now has a field for a second author. This is very useful to me, because I am an indologist and a classicist, and I often need to know the editor or translator of a book. For instance, to know simply that I have a copy of the Iliad, written by Homer, is not very useful: I have several, but to know that I have a copy of Lombardo's translation of Homer's Iliad is. Book Crawler now has a second user definable field, I use this for the location of my books. Knowing that my copy of Lombardo's translation of Homer's Iliad is in the garage is very useful indeed. Book Crawler also now sorts titles without regards to case or leading articles (a, an, the), so "The Iliad" is sorted under "H," rather than "The." An awful lot of book titles begin with "a, an" or "the."
I had been intending to write the author and request these features, but she added them before I could get around to it. The newest version of Book Crawler has many other features, but these are the most useful to me.
