AV sync problems
I love what Boom does for the sound output, say when I present in a smart classroom with oldstyle sound.
But every time, without fail, with Boom running, there is a skip in the sound about a minute into any file -- sound or video -- and while that makes no difference in the sound quality save the embarrassment over the skip, there is suddenly a pronounced sync issue with any video playing -- the sound being almost a full second -- or more! -- later than the video. This is a pretty serious issue that make me say -- sorry about this -- DON'T BUY IT. Until the video sync issue is fixed.
P.S. Above, it says "no more sync issues with A/V". I have the most current version. DO NOT BELIEVE IT.
Three words - night and day
I was used to the decent sound quality from my Mac. After buying some new speakers, I wanted to see if I could get the most out of them. Boost was the only app I could find that had the features I wanted. I tried the trial version and only needed to try it for a few minutes. I could tell a huge difference in audio quality, and I immediately bought the full version. Really outstanding. I wish I had known about this months ago!
Having this running, I connected facetime with a friend. I almost can’t hear anything, it nulls the sound instead of enhancing. My friend also had the exact issue while using facetime. So we quited booms, everything was fine. I don’t know if it behaves like this to other software, but since I use facetime the most, it deserves three stars for now. I will change the rating once they fix this issue.
