Simply won’t work

I’ve had this app for months (Maverick version) and the short story is that it isn't compatible with the OS (on a 1yr old maxed out MBP). Sounds stupid I know. When it works (infrequently) it is great. But 95% of the time, it simply disables all my audio outputs. I have to manually go into Preferences and re-select the audio output device. This happens several times a day even when I am using the app. When I contacted the developer about this, they said there was an incompatibility between the app and the OS. Uh, okay - so what are you going to do about it? Apparently the answer is NOTHING. I even get the occasional error message that there are program elements missing and the app hasn’t installed correctly. Maybe the Yosemite version works, but I don’t plan to find out - especially at the price they are asking for it. I’ve had it and will be deleting the app as soon as I finish this review.

My recommendation to anyone considering this app - DON’T.

Current version has destroyed audio on my comp

This app has become a virus as far as I’m concerned.

It intermittently cuts out, stutters, sporadically mutes audio, messes with my audio output preferences, will prevent me from playing back audio until I quit and restart the app, prevents me from output to my headphones or any other speaker unless I restart my computer or the app (whatever it feels like at the time), will play audio on only the right channel sometimes. And the worst part is the crappy little uninstall script you have to download from their site does not work and I can’t get rid of the app, or the hidden 'Boom Device’ support files that continue to plague my system preferences and all audio on my computer like ghosts.

Terrible and should be considered malware.

Thanks for tipping me off that Boom is now just garbage.

Boom was great at one time, but it stopped working for me. I’ve been having a great deal of trouble with it, and today I decided to try to get it fixed. When I started, I had no idea that my problems were widely shared, but now that I see the consensus, I won’t waste any more time. It was great at one time, but its garbage now. That’s all that need be said. Thanks, everyone, for putting me straight. I now know that I don’t have to waste any more time with Boom. What happened to Boom, I don’t know, but the important tbhing now is that it no longer works.
