Border Buddy is the must-have App for any border-crossing traveller.
Border Buddy provides the most up-to-date border wait times for the USA/Canada and USA/Mexico border crossings by combining both official wait times and real-time wait time information reported by actual border-crossing travellers.
Stay on the right side of the law by calculating how long you may be in the USA before you become unlawfully present or accidentally satisfy the IRS Substantial Presence Test.
See what the current gas prices are across the border! Gas prices are crowd-sourced, so make sure you report the latest prices when you fill up so you can help others.
Plan your shopping trip with the offline shopping directory! Download the shopping directory and you can view all the outlet and shopping malls in your area, including mall hours, list of stores, and offline maps - even when you are roaming without a data connection!
* Note: the offline directory and offline maps are currently only available for the Pacific Northwest region (Vancouver, Victoria, Seattle, and Portland). More regions will come in the future.
Use the handy price converter and see how much you are saving! You can also convert gas prices between US dollars per gallon and Canadian dollars (or Mexican pesos) per litre.
Check what you are allowed to bring back home with you after your travels with the handy Duty Free Allowance information page.

What's New in Version 3.3
Do you fill up in Point Roberts? The gas prices in the App are now displayed in dollars per litre to match the prices on the pumps.
Thank you David W. for helping get this sorted out!
The Duty Free information pages have also been updated with additional information. Thank you Paul M. for the suggestion!
While it’s nice that the app can use your location to give you information, to require Location Services to be enabled is a non-starter for me since it’s not really necessary.
There is no reason at all that the user can’t choose their border location without having to enable Location Services for it. For those that want to enable L.S. to make things easier, that’s great. But to require it is unnecessary. I only use one border crossing. I don’t need L.S. enabled for that. Just let me choose my preferred crossing and always load that whether L.S. is enabled or not.
I’m a bit suspicious of developers who require things that really aren’t required. Location Services is just an “ease-of-use” issue for this app and certainly doesn’t need to be required to still successfully use it for its intended purpose.
Clean app but limited usefulness
I don't live near a border. Intended to use this app for travel planning. Since installing (approx. 1 week), it has only displayed border crossings into Mexico for CA & AZ. It also only displays wait times for Mexico into the U.S. Not very helpful.
I want my money back.
