Due to limitations by iOS, we are unable to show more than three stories on iPhone 4S and older, four stories on iPhone 5 and 5S and five stories on iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. However, when you swipe to dismiss a story, new stories will be loaded and displayed in the today view.
What's New in Version 1.4
Breaking has, right from the start, been about making News that matters to you more accessible. Today we're introducing a major new section of the app that further helps that goal.
We're excited to show you the new Stories view! From the Stories tab inside the app, you can view all available stories from the feeds you have added.
You can open a story, dismiss it, share it or save it for later reading. In many ways the stories view inside the app is the older brother of the today widget, sharing many of the same functionalities but in more substantial way. Where the today widget excels at glancing latest news, the stories view let's you explore all recent entries.
We've also been hard at work fixing the most critical issues in Breaking. The Today view now more reliably loads and shows news. If you've often gotten the infamous "Unable to load" message, please take this update for a swing.
New in this update:
- We've introduced the Stories view in the application. From there you can access all available stories from the feeds you have added.
- The Today view has become much more reliable!
- The Recent view as well as the new Stories view shows images from stories.
- We've included a handful of new sound effects and you can turn those off in the settings.
- We've also added settings to hide extracts and images in stories.
- We've fixed a bug where the extract of stories would not be shown or include HTML tags.
- We've also squashed a few other bugs.
If you like all the new things we've introduced in this update, please leave us a review on the App Store. We read everything and It means so much to us.

Customer Reviews
Has promise
But it is not there yet. Very confusing to start with. Instructions don't seem to relate to the iPad app. Stories appear to the left in little teeny tiny boxes that are hard to read.
Some significant feeds such as the Wall Street Journal, don't appear to be available at all.
Still, the idea has promise. I will stick with it for awhile to see if it grows. It's a good example of why apps should have free test drives before we commit to buy.
Suckered into this purchase
I read an article on app advice and purchased this, since I don't have an rss reader app. Turned out to be a waste of two dollars. Read the other reviews, since mine would be redundant, the widget is fine but the app is terrible. Can't read the stories from the app.. So you're paying $2 to have a few news stories show up on your today view. Ridiculous. Hope it improves
Very Cool
The negative reviews are unfair. If you're looking for a standalone news reader, look elsewhere. But if you want a cool way to see a few stories via a home screen widget, from pretty much any site that has RSS, this is the one. Plus, the best part is you can save articles to Pocket etc. via the Widget. I say well done!
