BrewGene is the essential mobile app for beer enthusiasts. It's simply the best way to find and track great beer, and gives you instant access to detailed information on over 40,000 beers. It's got a beer recommendation engine, check-ins, bar & brewer data, sharing options, and more. Here's all the great stuff you get with BrewGene:
The core of BrewGene is an easy-to-use and comprehensive beer tracking feature. Rate and tag what beers you're drinking, where you're having them, and how much you like them. You can also write detailed tasting notes, and create a 'watch list' of rare or favorite beers. Now, you'll never forget what that great beer was you tried last week, and you'll never accidentally order a bad beer twice.
BrewGene will analyze your beer preferences and actually be able to predict whether or not you'll like a beer you've never tried before. You get a whole personalized list of new beers to try, and you'll never be disappointed by a random beer order again.
BAR LOCATIONS + ENHANCED MENUS
BrewGene has maps and beer menus galore. Use our 'beer finder' to locate places to purchase any hard-to-find favorite beer. Each location has a beer menu that is updated based on user activity. Even better, menus are integrated with your rating/recommendation data so you know exactly which beers to order when you walk into a bar.
SHARE YOUR ACTIVITY
If you're the type of person who likes to post pictures or talk about your favorite beers, we've hooked up BrewGene to Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare. We've also built a Beer Buddy system that allows you and your friends to easily see each other's tasting notes, beer activity, and offer personalized beer recommendations. For instance, if you need to get your buddy some beer for their birthday, you can look up and see what their favorite beer is.
OTHER COOL STUFF:
- Stay on top of local beer events and festivals with our built-in notification system
- Browse beers by Brewer
- Use it offline! Great for users with WiFi-only devices.
What's New in Version 4.03
- Can now apply Style and Brewer filters for your Beer Cellar
- Can reset password from profile page
- Fixed missing brewer names in some beer lists
- Download offline beer data now much faster
So far this is the best beer journal app I've found. Love the extensive list of beers, the sharing with buddies, and recommendations. My suggestions for improvement: 1) Offer a backup option. Would love to be able to download my cellar (beer name, rating, tasting notes, and date) as CSV. Just in case anything happens I'd hate to lose all my years of data. 2) If we can download the available beers for offline use, why can we not access our own cellars without an internet connection? I use an iPod touch, not a phone so I have no cell service to lookup my beers while at the store. 3) Would love to be able to scan beers by barcode; Brewski Me has this but I dropped them because the sharing with friends doesn't work. Other than those things, this app is fantastic - thank you!
Keeps track of beers I try, has reviews
I like to try imports and Craft beers when I go to a store with a good selection. I always think I'll remember the ones I like and the ones I should avoid, but I don't. This app helps me keep track so I don't waste my money. A great bonus, my reviews sync with my other devices. Other peoples' reviews are typically Twitter-like...short and to the point. So far, haven't found a beer not listed.
Would like to upload photos to reflect label changes or improve on existing ones. Maybe I just haven't figured out how to do it.
I haven't used the other app features but will definitely keep this one.
Great beer app but....
Lets you remember what beer you likes and check out others' ratings. Has reviews and pics of virtually every beer known.
Have been using this app frequently for over 2 years and still love it but it has so much more potential. With the plethora of social media apps out there, why not make a few updates to this one and take advantage of the technology. This app has so much potential but has not been updated in a long time. I use it now as my own personal beer diary but this app could be so much more. Where is the rich guy to buy this app out and finally do something real with it.
