Brewseful is a simple timer for coffee enthusiasts. Add events partway through the brew time, calculate water:grounds ratios, and save custom brew timers to use again later. Large numbers, clear alert sounds, and a bold progress indicator make it easy to keep your attention on your coffee.
So Close to Great
The app is gorgeous. Minimal, well designed, plus pleasant and playful animation. It certainly solves the problems faced when creating coffee brewing recipes.
The UX is a bit indirect, and not intuitive enough for its minimal GUI. I was able to figure out how to save brew recipes, (you have to slide from left to right to "Save current settings as ___,") but it really should have an auto save of settings (the needed manual saving isn't apparent).
Overall, a well constructed app, but it could use a few tweaks (though I doubt they'll be made, as the last update was over a year ago).
Terrible - does not save events
Beautifully designed but poorly functioning. I want to love this app but it simply doesn't work. Twice I created five separate events for use with the Aeropress. Both times I left the screen and then returned all of my events were restored to the defaults. Add to that the timer counts down only--from 4:00 only? But the events start from 0:00... Not well thought out.
The interface is beautiful, although there is a very steep learning curve. But none of that matters because all of your effort at creating brew events is wasted. This app is a total disappointment.
Big potential - huge problems
This app could be great some day. Right now though, it's completely useless. I cannot save a single brew setup without it changing everything I entered. When I try to move the timing sliders, they often misplace themselves (I'm pretty sure 3 minutes is a lot closer to the top of a 3&1/2 minute brew time than it is to the bottom). Right now, the app is highly unstable and ill-performing. With some fixes, it will be great. I'll be happy to change my review then. I'll be keeping the app for now too on hopes of a much needed update, soon.
