One of the Best Games in its Genra
I like to play these mystery games with some hidden objects and tricky puzzles finding out secrets and solving mysteries and crimes. This game is one of the best. It has some but not too many hidden object scenes, it has many interesting sometimes almost challenging puzzles, but not so much that I got frustrated and stuck in the game. The story was a little too macabre for me but still compelling and left me with the feeling that my character had a genuine mission beyond just running from here to there
looking for hidden objects and solving a few, way too easy, 'been there done that' puzzles. I hope to see more games of this caliber or better coming up in the future. I also really liked the audio. It is best to hear the character or a narrator read the captions out loud. That way I don't miss anything by not reading quickly enough before the captions blink off. Overall this game was a wonderful, entertaining, pleasant, experience.
Acting! "Oscar" can act!!!!😍👍👏
O.K. Lots of Big Fish games have cool plots (this one is as good as Enigmatis)
Lots have loooooong games (this one took me a week)
But, few have even passable voice acting: this one not only does, the acting is downright GOOD!
This (and the games by Silverback like Empress 1&2 and Theatre of the Absurd) are the ONLY games where I left the voice acting ON.
The actor knew not to emphasize the pronouns! (Actors of the world, I beg you: never emphasize the pronouns. Ever.)
The good acting made the creeeeepy game so much more fun.
There are only a few HO scenes (good) but lots of puzzles (easy to hard). It's kind of like Myst meets The Phantom of the Opera. But, instead of music (loved the guitar tuner even though the pitches weren't correct, this masked man makes "art".... out of the people he kills.
While veeeeery creepy, the game is NOT gross; no gross-out factor at all. It took me a week (I like to get my money's worth), but I'd be surprised if even the fastest players stuck in on a rainy day could get through in less than two days. The illustrations are gorgeous; sharp and clear. The designs from location to location vary from beautiful to eerie. There is a lot of back tracking, but there is a map to tell you where to go.
I don't plan on deleting this one! Can't wait for the sequel.
I bought it for $.99, but it IS worth the full $2.99. Great game.
The good, the bad, and the ?.....
First the good. Interesting game. Love the theme, game play, and the artwork... If you have good vision that is.... The puzzles are interesting, although not very difficult.
....However... It feels like this game was made for smaller screen devices.. Then poorly adapted to fit an iPad screen which really subtracts from the clarity and the artwork, and makes much of the print nearly unreadable when the zoom is set for the larger screen.
It just seems to me that many of these games that have cut corners like this, could be much more enjoyable and sell much better with just a bit more effort and attention to detail from the designers...
