The British have landed in New York harbor!
General Washington and his new, untrained American army are greatly outnumbered.
Your mission is to help the Americans survive the Battle of Brooklyn — fighting where you can, retreating where you must.
Do you have what it takes to save the Revolution?
Brooklyn 1776 is a light, tactical war game exploring the events of the largest battle of the American Revolutionary War, The Battle of Brooklyn. Preserve the American army against impossible odds, using your generals wisely and adapting to the wilds of Brooklyn as the battle takes shape.
Just in time for the 240th anniversary of the Battle of Brooklyn! We have improved unit-selection, so that you can tap to select (and then tap again to de-select) any unit, much more easily than in the previous version of the game.

Slow and a battery drain
Played it a few times but will get rid of it soon. I like the invent of the specific historic scenario but problems of the game done make it worth it.
First of all it is a huge battery hog. This is a bad enough to quit alone.
I found the opening phase of gameplay always requires resetting the location of troops. It takes forever. There should be a way to speed up play.
The only way I have found to win is an all out retreat which still looses some men. There must be a better way yet the odds are certainly against you. The fact that the game says the task is to defend the area but congratulates you for a retreat that saves lives is contradictory.
Also if you close the game you have to start a new game next time. Since it takes so long to play it would be nice to be able to remember where you left off.
Making history fun
Excellent gameplay, easy to follow. Opportunity to try multiple strategies. After playing I supplemented what I learned in the game with some additional research on this battle. More rewarding than just playing a fictional game. I look forward to the next installment!
More frustration than reward
More than once I've returned to the game after a break and found that my progress was lost, and that beginning a new game was required. The factoids that appear on the screen about various American Revolutionary War units are interesting but are disconnected from the play, as far as I can tell. The navigation around the board is clunky; pinching, zooming, and dragging the map does not flow smoothly.
