Ratings and Reviews
Still needs a lot of work
While some things have improved since my last review (combination of app updates and in-dash firmware updates), there are still some real issues to work out. Options for navigation are abysmal. Only option is Genius Maps, which is a joke. If I followed Genius Maps navigation without question I would have drowned - turn right onto road... what road??? Waze would be ideal but even Apple maps would be better. Making or receiving a phone call will kill BRP connect every time until I can pull over and unlock my phone again (new issue since recent app update). That’s just one example of many issues. I’m about done with BRP connect until it’s fixed. I’m tossing my phone into the trunk on the usb charger and will go Bluetooth only, using Waze voice instructions for navigation. I spent a LOT of money to get the BRP connect option. That is turning out to be a huge mistake.
I guess I expected better
I love my Spyder. I just assume the application would be as high-quality as the bike. I think it’s a great idea but I think it has a long way to go. At 65mgh you should focus on the ride, not why the music and gps just stopped and won’t go again. I have totally uninstalled and started back at 03 different times over the last three months. At this point I’ve just decided nope. I like the big screen display, but it’s really not that great when it doesn’t work. Obviously it needs more apps, but it’s new, if they can get it working that will come. If. Maybe I’ll check back at a later date with hope. But I am going to just revert back to google maps and Bluetooth connection.
Current version crashes after about a half hour. I have to stop, shut the bike off and then back on to makes things work again.
