Why did I get charged $1 to load money on the app?


Downloaded app on day 1. Used it successfully for a dozen purchases as I am a regular at Brueggers. At first it would take a day to post points but now it seems to do it instantly. Yesterday I decided to load $25 on my card as it promised 30 bonus points. The points posted immediately along with the $25 available to use in store. But I got popups from Amex which alerts me instantly about charges. It showed the $25 from Brueggers but 10 seconds later a $1 charge from Caribou Coffee. I know Caribou and Brueggers are the same company, but why did Caribou steal $1 from me with no notice? I never authorized this second charge.

Developer Response

The $1 charge is a payment authorization hold that is removed when the charges process, so that fee is never realized on a billing statement. Call us at 1.800.BAGELME if you have any additional concerns about this charge.

More rewards and bottomless rewards


Can’t you do more rewards I have the bottomless mug and the rewards are mostly for beverages plus a breakfast sandwich only if you do lunch sandwiches I will redeem my points if not I’ll just delete the app until this app is more updated and can be used by bottomless mug members. Now it’s won’t let me use the ready to use rewards it’s getting more annoying then better please fix this or I’m deleting this app for good.

Minor issue


Was at my local Bruegger’s and had the app open. A pop up showed saying I’m not connected to the internet. I tapped “connect” but received an Error 404 message. Tapped cancel to go back, where it asked me again if I wanted to connect. I was basically stuck in an endless loop. Ended up killing the app, turned off my WiFi settings, then opened the app again. It worked fine after that. There should be a way out of that loop.
