Not for Cordcutters / Dont In-App Purchase Either
If you already have a cable provider and subscribe to BTN with them, you can get live games. If now, $10 - $15 for replays? Not this guy. Also, I subbed in app. First, the password I choose was too long but it did not alert me to that in any way. So, went to website, said my password was wrong. Oh, reset sent to email, make it shorter. That worked. Then check my subscribtions. Nothing. Nothing on website, no subscription in iTunes on my account. And the app doesn't recognize the subscription I paid for.
I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, so, I thought I try resubscribbing in app. Guess what? I now show two charges for BTN subscribtions in purchase history, but nothing in my iTunes subscription or online under my account.
So, guess what, I'm on the phone with iTunes support to get a refund for not just one, but two charges for the same subscription in an app that doesn't work for live streaming anyway with paying for cable packages. Cox is my provider. So first, it's $80 for more channels, then I can subscribe to BTN on top of that. Nooooooo way. I'll watch the games on regular broadcast and listen to them on the radio for free through the Husker Sports Network. If it's a big game, I'll just go to a Nebraska fan bar here in Scottsdale, AZ. This is horrible experience.
Deleting this app and staying away from anything they provide for a long time to come.
Locks up at commercials
When watching live stream of games, the app locks up at commercials. Sometimes it locks in the middle of an ad, bit more frustratingly, when the hame pauses and it goes to the "holding" screen (i.e. not a video ad), it never returns to the feed. You have to manually back out of the stream and start the stream again. Sometimes this forces you to watch an ad BEFORE the stream starts again.
This is a problem with a BASIC function of this app ... streaming video of games. If you can't get that working correctly, why even have an app?
No Apple TV app, so forced to AirPlay from my phone or iPad. That alone knocks two stars off this garbage app. But the connection drops *constantly* forcing me to reopen the app and hit play over and over. The quality of the stream is also an embarrassment. Trying to watch a football game and can't even see the ball when it's passed. Ads also interrupt the actual game, so you see MORE commercials then if you just watched it on TV. BTN app is just as much a trashy money grab as BTN itself, color me shocked. Do not give this hole of a company so much as a dime or a second of your time.
