Buddhadharma: The Practitioner's Quarterly presents in-depth teachings across all Buddhist traditions, presented in a way that applies directly to your practice.

If you’re a student of one particular school or tradition of Buddhism, you’ll find great teachings from that school. Plus, you’ll discover powerful teachings from other traditions that are directly relevant to your practice. That’s why Buddhadharma’s slogan is Many Buddhists, One Buddhadharma.

This one takes patience

DC newsie

I was ready to give this one star and walk away -- maybe even try to nag the seller into giving me a refund for this and Shambhala Sun. But instead, I spent five or six hours over two days installing and deleting the app...and then waiting. Last night, the app sat on the splash screen for darn near 20 minutes, and then it worked. And now I love it. Once Buddhadharma was installed, then Shambhala Sun installed as well (after a 10 minute wait at the splash screen). Perhaps it's appropriate, given the magazine, but patience was key to getting it to work. That doesn't say much for the platform...would give it five stars if it wouldn't have taken so many hours to get it to work (on a brand new, WiFi-connected iPad mini w/ a verified working 20Mbps connection).

Crashing solved

I was having the same problem others noted in these reviews of Buddhadharma with crashing on launching. Today I read the description of this journal here and found that it suggests that such issues can be solved with a deletion of the app and a new download from the iTunes Store. I don't know if that suggestion was there all along or if it was recently added- I never saw it before. I tried this today and it worked. The journal opened, I downloaded the current issue, and I am able to read it with no problems. I hope this works for others as well.

Crashing issue fixed

Following up with my previous 2 star review to acknowledge that the issue has been fixed and the app now works as promised. 4 stars.

I can now see the magazine issues I have purchased and the page turning animations makes you feel like you are reading the actual magazine.
