BuMang makes learning Chinese easy. Well, a bit easier at least. It helps learning to read and memorize Chinese words using a multiple choice or quiz-like user interface. Any number of words can be grouped into a lesson, with each lesson corresponding to a section of your preferred text book.
The integrated English-Chinese dictionary supports searches in English, pinyin and Chinese. Words looked up in the dictionary can be added to a lesson.
The Chinese dictionary lookup uses the free CEDICT dictionary from http://cc-cedict.org/.
What's New in Version 1.2
Resolve compatibility issue with iOS 5.
This is a good start on an app that could be the must have for people studying Chinese. You could gradually enter words/characters you learn in your real class. But, the app crashes when I enter words that are not in it's dictionary and the word search function is marginal, at best. I want this to be fantastic, but at this stage it still need a lot of work to be usable for a serious student.
Keep working on it guys. I'll be back in a year to give it another try.
