User Interface Issues & Missing Info
The user interface of this app is definitely lacking. Example: When I get notifications about Clan Chat messages and click on the notification, I'm not taken to Clan Chat where the message came in. I've had to figure out on my own that I must manually go to Clan Chat to see where the notification was coming from. That should be mobile app UI 101. Especially when Bungie's promoting D2's clan oriented features to encourage cooperative play. Same applies to all other features of the app, like LFG.
The other issue I'm seeing is that Bungie took out very useful PvP statistics we used to have in the Destiny 1 companion app version. Now I have to resort to 3rd party web apps to find this info; and that's clearly not as ideal as to what Bungie already offered in the old version of their companion app.
So if new Clan features aren't really all that ideal to begin with, why did they get rid of old functionality that did work and was actually useful?
Great Companion App
It’s not a must, but more of a quality of life app. Moving gear around is super easy and the main reason I have this app. I can move gear between 3 characters and my vault with ease. I can do it on the fly when I realize I need a specific piece or if I have free time I can sort everything out. The clan page isn’t always perfect, but it does give us a chat to keep up with what our clan needs. The other thing I use on it is the updates, I can easily see what’s coming up, maintenance notes or what ever news they post.
All in all, it make my gaming experience much more pleasurable to have this app.
Since the last update a few days ago, I have been unable to receive any notifications through the app from my clan on any level. Even though I have all notifications turned on in the app and on my phone to alert me of new clan members requesting to join, joined, leaving, or clan messages in the clan chat. I don’t know why or how this has happened, but it started after the most recent update. This really concerns me as a clan admin because I can’t answer questions or help out clan members when they ask since I receive zero notifications of messages or forms being posted or groups being put together.
