Burn Ban 411 provides real-time air quality burn ban status for King, Kitsap, Snohomish, and Pierce counties in Washington State, USA. Use Burn Ban 411 to see whether or not there is an air quality ban in effect in your area. Please note: Fire Safety Burn Bans are different than air quality burn bans and not covered by this app. The app does provide resources to information about fire safety burn ban status.
Sub-county burn ban status reporting. Three areas within our jurisdiction regularly have different air pollution levels than the larger county in which they are located. These include 'Darrington', 'South Pierce', and 'Peninsula' in West Pierce. Residence living inside the sub-county areas should follow the status of their sub-county area first.
Ratings and Reviews
Simple and Informative
Straight forward and to the point. This app lets you know the status of any air quality burn bans in Western Washington Counties. I use to check online. Then I found out there was this app. Now all I have to do before starting a fire in the fireplace is open this app and check out the status. That's all I need it for and its up-to-the-minute. Perfect.
Not Entirely Accurate
A recent round of burn bans were implemented due to dry conditions. The app showed “No Ban” for all of the listed counties, even after “refreshing”. Links were available which provided further more accurate information, however the facing page graphic is completely inaccurate.
Shows “No Ban” when bans are in effect
This app is useless for me. It shows green for all counties, says the burn ban was lifted 8/23.
While this may be true for “air quality” burn bans it is not true for the “fire safety” bans which you can only find information on by tapping the “Fire safety burn bans” icon and scrolling through a bunch of text.
You are better off just googling for the burn ban info for your county.
