Customer Reviews

Very good app. Excellent customer service

This is a great calendar and to-do app. The task and calendar integration is advanced enough for big projects while not overly complicated to get distracting. I am the sole mac in an all microsoft work environment so I have to provide my own troubleshooting when connecting to our exchange servers for email and calendar issues. I had an intermittent problem in connectivity with BusyCal and emailed their tech support. Their response was the same day and faster than any response I’ve ever received from a purchased software product. Through a few back and forth emails, all within the same day, I was able to get the problem solved. That is what I call fantastic customer service.

As far as the app goes, the interface is very much pre-Mavericks iCal like. To me this is what iCal should have been. It’s been the best replacment for Outlook calendar and task that I could find on the mac. I also love the integration with reminders and everything has synced seamlessly. I haven’t paid this much for a calendar/task app in probably 15 years but it has been well worth it.

Do yourself a favor and give the trial version a spin. It’s a great way to review the full product and then decide if it’s worth the price. I did, and it is.

Great App - Great Service - A Few Weaknesses

There are so many things that I really like about this app as a small business owner. The built in weather functionality is very helpful, its a very visual application and its ability to import from a wide variety of calendars is rather fantastic. The ability to use tags is very important and something that a lot of other firms could learn from. Even the colors are stronger, cleaner, so your various types of calendars stand out more. If you’re looking for a very solid calendaring app right out of the box, this is it and I know, because I tested A LOT of applications.

The downsides include getting everything initially set-up. If you’re not a tech guy, it can feel like a bit much if anything goes wrong. The good news is their support is so responsive and usually rather spot on, that with their help, you can usually resolve any issues. I also think they are over priced by about $10 but again, given the level of support you get, that could be the reason for the extra dollars. Finally, I am not fond of having your todo’s show up on the left hand side calendars bar. Its really no big deal, you can hide all that but that left hand bar could offer a much cleaner interface.

Outstanding all-around! One of the first apps I install!

This is a very, very useful application. It is one of the first I install on a new computer.
Even nowadays, when synchronization is more common, this app provides many useful and beautiful enhancements to the stock Calendar.
Busy Cal 2 continues to improve with features, bug fixes, etc. It supports iCloud, Google, and I think general CalDAV.
It has a lot of features that are essential to a multi-calendar environment (I just glanced over and saw 19 between my 3 jobs and my wife’s calendars!), including Smart Filters (so quickly switch between “sets” of calendars, etc).
Weather graphics, sticky notes, etc. Lots of small things that make you smile.
The company is agile and responsive… I have always got a quick and helpful response, even when messy logs needed to be read over (sent easily, BTW, with their support features). They are nice, real people, not an outsourced deal.
Highly recommended. Two thumbs up! (I sound like I’m on eBay, I know, but this is real enthusiasm, and I am normally a tough critic of software).
