Should have read the app reviews before purchasing

I own 6 of the sleep bulbs and I’m really upset with myself for not reading the app reviews before purchasing. The bulbs always lose connection and require a factory reset or an app uninstall and reinstall which is frustrating because I have to re-pair and reprogram all 6 bulbs. Each update of the app removed key features and introduces new bugs. First the Follow The Sun feature was removed, and now dark mode. I don’t understand why dark mode would be removed because using this app in the dark with the bright white screen is stark and blinding.

The lasted review has rendered my bulbs useless. It was not connecting to any of the bulbs so I went through the uninstall/reinstalled exercise. Re-paired and reprogrammed as per usual, and the next time I tried to use them, they were not connected again.

These bulbs are not cheap and they are not created by some unknown indie, they are made by one of the largest energy and appliance companies so there is no excuse for such poor app design and development. Reading the reviews, many of these issues have been rampant for over a year. This app has one of the lowest ratings I’ve ever seen on the App Store. Once a consumer purchases these bulbs, they have no choice but to use this app. Maybe GE should fire their dev team and spend some money to rectify the problems instead of breaking the app with every update.

We apologize for the inconvenience. As a part of the development process we looked at different features within the app and we decided to remove the dark theme feature since the utilization was low. Another way of achieving the same effect as the dark theme is to go into Settings->Display & Brightness->Night Shift. Terrible update for a wonderful product

Updated review Nov 4, 2017...I didn’t think it was possible to make this app any worse but once again I have been proven wrong. It won’t connect to any of my bulbs so they are stuck on the night setting for the sleep bulbs and the others are on the last dimmer setting I used. I tried to delete one and reconnect it to no avail. Now I’ve had to replace the bulbs in my bedroom lamps so I can have bright enough lights throughout the day. Just ridiculous for a company that is supposed to be on the leading edge of technology to keep making this worse. Pricing the Phillips hue bulbs and goi g to make the switch.

Updated review: So the app just updated and I have to accept the terms and conditions but they don’t load for me to accept them so I can’t use the app. I guess it really is time to replace these with something that works.

Original review: I've had these for a few months and they worked ok (a few bugs with the app). But now the follow the sun settings are gone and the only way to get the same automation is schedule each feature individually, schedule an off time and then an on time for the next light setting. RIDICULOUS! I guess I should've gone with the Phillip's Hue instead :(

Scheduling is broken

Revised: who knew that such a bad app could get worse?!? I'll installed the "upgrade" and couldn't even accept the terms and conditions initially, because the terms and conditions were blank, therefore only decline was click able. Even though I couldn't get into the app, my bulbs schedule kept working, but I couldn't over ride the settings without turning off the lamp. So I deleted the app and reinstalled. After installation I was able to access the app, but now the bulbs schedule was erased and the app can't find my bulb!! I assume the best suggestion will be to reset my bulb to factory defaults?!? Absolutely unacceptable in my opinion.

This is awful. My initial schedule worked, but any edits are ignored. I deleted all schedules, and now my light turns on multiple times, without any schedule in place. I added a new scheduled, my light continues to use deleted schedules, but doesn't use the new scheduled time. I can't even delete the schedule so I can just control the lights with the app. Very disappointed.
