Great app for beginning runners

This is an excellent app for absolute beginner runners, something that can be difficult to find. Each week is challenging, but doable. This app also allows you to pace yourself, with a pause button if you need to catch your breath, tie your shoe, etc., and you can also redo weeks if you don't feel ready to move on yet. This newest update seems to have fixed my one issue with the app, which is that it asked you to review it upon startup - after I've just gotten myself psyched up to go for a run I don't want to stop and write a review! Now it asks you to write a review after your run is finished. Two final pieces of advice: 1) Make sure you allow this app to send you push notifications, because otherwise if you shut your screen off you won't know when to walk/run; 2) I would open your music app, select your music, and get that all set up and then start this app, since that will allow your music app to handle the shuffle function, which as others have said this app does not do flawlessly.

Perfect for newbies!!

I started at the absolute absolutely "couch" end of couch-to-5K and this worked wonderfully. I couldn't fathom being able to run more than 3 minutes straight, and by the end j was able to run the full 30 minutes. I love being able to just put in my headphones and run/walk without counting minutes. She just tells you when to start running and when to start walking. It's SO easy!!'n

My two beefs with the program are: (1) By the end it assumes you are running 10-minute miles (which I don't) and bases your training off that. And (2) it doesn't have a GPS tracking to tell you how far you actually did run. I have to open another run-mapping app to get correct mileage.

Other than that, I have loved it and recommended/convinced others to use it. The ability to play music through it is great. It really is absolutely amazing for someone who has never ever run before!!!

So you want to start running but you hate running!?

Maybe you've dreamt about being able to move and run like the characters in your video games you lay on the couch playing? Well then the couch to 5k is the app for you. Great app for absolute beginners and anyone needing motivation. My favorite thing is that it works in the background with other apps. I use mine with Google play music and this app beeps in during the music and let's you know when it's time to run or walk (it actually says start running/walking). You can essentially set the app, listen to music and place your phone in your pocket without having to look at it again, unless you are like me and enjoy seeing how much longer you have to torture (j/k) yourself I mean run. I found a new appreciation for running with using this app and I typically hate running.
