Flawed but gets results

Early forties, once skinny, step on scales - one ninety what the heck has happened? Desperation sets in - what to do? Run. Umm first run ends bad. I wonder, is there an app for that? Oh here one is with raving reviews. Week one, session one - that wasn't so bad but not any couch potato is going to get through that. After day 2 the new muscles are less sore. Hmm, 7 days later and I've completed week 2 - odd. Oh I'm supposed to do only 3 times a week. 3 more days and cripes! I can hardly walk my knees are so sore. Trip to running store - umm, I shouldn't run on sidewalk? And my shoes are worn out? Double cripes, if I can't run on sidewalk I can't do this. $120 and these shoes might work. Let's do it. Completed week 4 day one today. Crazy app lets me play pandora music in background. Love. If I lock phone, it doesn't announce when to run and walk. Hate. I lower screen brightness and leave on in pocket. Irritating, but it works. I feel my knees each run but not painful like before. I am getting through this and staying motivated. Love the running program and if app were reliable, this would be 5 stars. It doesn't notify way too often, so sometimes I don't think I've run enough. But easy to repeat. If you are chunky like me, buy new shoes before you start this for best results.

Happy so far

I tried a Nother couch to 5K that I paid for and it didn't work very well I had problems with the app and the pace was too fast it wasn't made for someone who was on the couch. I downloaded this app with not a lot of hope. But I've been doing it for two weeks now and the pace is reasonable and it's free. I feel like this app is very doable and I am confident I'm going to finish it. Coincidentally I have two other friends doing it and they are also pleased. We have all decided to do a 5K together in November. I haven't seen any glitches although one of my friend says he doesn't get trophies on his. I wouldn't call that major considering all the benefits. but he wants them and he's jealous that I get them and he doesn't ha ha. All in all I highly recommend this app

First time Runner at age 41

I've always been fit, but have never been a runner. I do BeachBody workouts, TaeBo and anything that makes me sweat hard. I've never been able to run. I get 2 laps in at the track and I can't breathe. I get 4 laps in and I feel like I'm going to die. That "runners high" my friends talk about was a joke. So I am in my 40's now and decided to give it one last try with this C25K program. It's unbelievable. I'm running and not hating it. I'm accomplishing my goals and staying on track. I actually look forward to the next run to see if I can do it. This program is designed to definitely give beginners a fighting chance by spacing out the weeks. I'm going to complete this program and tell my runner friends I get it now!
