Excellent training program, needs a little fixing!
I am currently on week 6 day 3 and I have gone from barely being able to jog for a minute and a half to running my 1st 5k (and not walking at all!) this past weekend. I am thankful for the progressive and easy training, however, at least once every 2 weeks the app decides to just... Stop working in the middle of my run. For example: I just completed week 6 day 2 today and that is 10 minute jog, 3 minute walk. The chime came on for me to begin my 10 minutes of jogging, but then never came on to change over to walking. When I stopped after jogging for something around 12 minutes (5 songs), I checked the app and it said I have only lapsed 6 total minutes! 5 of warm up and only 2 of jogging?! It was frustrating and this is not the first time this has happened. The app will quit itself if you lock the screen with it on, it won't play pandora through the app and constantly stops counting down or playing the chimes over my music. Most days, it's fine, but every 2 weeks it takes a total crap and doesn't work! Please fix these issues! I love the program otherwise.
We Can Do It!!!
I started this a month ago and Week 1 Day 1 killed me. I thought to myself, "I can't do this." But I stuck with it. The first week I lost 4lbs (water weight I presumed). I continued doing Week 1 on my second week and lost another 4lbs. The third week I had to stop due to really bad shin splints because my body wasn't used to jogging. It discouraged me but as soon as the pain in my knees were gone I hit the track again, and it was easier the third week. I have since began Week 2 and am ten pounds down. I gain and lose a few pounds but I think it's due to fat melting and gaining muscle. My family is noticing the difference and clothes is fitting a bit looser, only in increments of course. I never thought I could do it but here I am, going at my pace of course, but going nonetheless. I do run at night or earlier in the mornings because I'm so self conscious about it. I pray before every run and when things get rough while running I pray to God to give me the strength and endurance to keep going. Thank you for creating this app, it is truly a life changer.
I cannot believe the progress that can be made when you stick with this program! Week 1, I was hating 90 seconds of running, panting like a dog. I couldn't run 3x/week because my shin splits were so bad, so I had been doing twice a week then, and now I'm up to week 6, day 2 and going strong. I can't believe I can run (well, jog, an 11-min mile) for 20+ minutes straight!! I've already downloaded the 10k program in anticipation of finishing this in a couple weeks. Way to go, Zen Labs! I'm really impressed with the app, and pleased with my development. Thank you! (Oh, and this healthy running habit has helped me clean up my eating/drinking and I'm down 8.8 pounds in the last 7 weeks too!)
