Calendar Event Pro

By Kendon Black

Open iTunes to buy and download apps.

Calendar Event Pro allows you to add events to your iPhone's Calendar app in a more advanced way. For example, if you wanted to add an event that occurred on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month, you could.

Features include:

- Works with native iPhone Calendar app.

- Customizable recurrence/repeat schedule. Create an event that repeats every 11 days, or one that repeats on the 1st and 3rd Monday and Wednesday of every other month.

-Customizable alert intervals. Create an alert that pops up 3 days, 4 hours, and 12 minutes before the event.

What's New in Version 1.1

Updated for compatibility with iOS 5.

Awful. Do not buy.

I bought this app when I realized the native Apple calendar is embarrassingly basic. Unlike Blackberry's calendar, which easily allowed you to repeat events on e.g., the Tuesdays and Thursdays (walk the dog on lunch break) or on the last Friday of the month (date night), apple's calendar could only repeat an event daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly.

This app was supposed to make my calendar work like the Blackberry's. It doesn't. Take the first example above (every Tuesday and Thursday). You'll spend 2 minutes inputting the event, only to find out the app oddly wrote it down down every single day. Or on the first Tuesday of the month. Worse, you cannot edit when the event repeats using Apple's calendar. So you're forced to reopen this auxiliary app again to retype the event again. After the fifth time the event did not show up on the days I carefully input, I deleted the app. It is worthless. Save your money. Shame on this developer and shame on Apple. If everything else the iPhone does weren't superior, I'd miss my Blackberry.

no way to set a moving holiday like Mother

No way to set it for a particular yet moving date each year-- for example the 2nd sunday in may each year (Mother's Day).

There are many such holidays! Thanksgiving, Mother's Day, Father's Day Columbus Day, MLK Day, many others.

There are settings for 1st, 2nd 3d 4th, day, week, month in this program, and it DOES give you better alert timing than apple's built-in calendar app, . BUT NO WAY to set if for something that comes once a year and floats a bit based on when the 1st 2d 3d or 4th monday, sunday, etc. thursday Like Thanksgiving (4th Thursday in November)

PS Am putting this in a review rather than contacting Calendar Event Pro Support-- because the link to Support is broken- only takes you to a blank google screen!!!

Does not work

I tried this app in the hope that it would allow me to repeat alarms. OK. it kinda allows you to setup alerts with odd repeat times, but it DOES NOT allow you to repeat Alarms, just appointments. Be careful because this is NOT what it does. So, since it is not faire to review something for what it does not clearly claim to do, I will say that the cancel button does not work so I have to exit the app using the button. If you accidentally hit done multiple times you will end up will lots of untitled events at the same time. I setup a reminder alarm and it did not even do that correctly. Don't waste your money.
