Easy to use and free to boot!!

I've used other tracking apps and find that MyFitnessPal is as easy or easier than any I've tried. And I'm finding it just as effective as Weight Watchers without the added fee. Just starting out with it so can't predict my long term success, but historically speaking, if I consistently track my food, I will lose weight and keep it off. So the easier to track, the better. Now only time and diligence will tell.

I especially like the nutritional analysis available for each day's intake. And the reminders to get caught up when I forget or simply slack.

I'd definitely recommend this app to others wanting to get their weight, nutrition, and general health in order.

Good initial tracking but poor data reporting

Works we'll enough on basic level. If it did more I would pay up to $3-$5 for this app, alone. Right now It puts your food and weight into "progress" report, but it does not push your water or cardio exercise data into the "progress" reporting. If you want to see histograph of water or exercise cals or exercise time you have to enter it separately each day beyond the daily diary. You cannot even add multiple days of data, it has to be only the day it happens. VERY lame that it cannot do that. It seems other apps do that easily. And swiping to go from day to day within the diary would be very useful. Just like any other calendar app out there. If the next update or two doesn't remedy this I may go back go my purchased app of mynetdiary.

Great UI for food but could be even better.

This has been wonderful for entering in food and the integration with HealthKit has been great and seamless. The heartbeat monitor is not as accurate as standalone apps that do this and the exercise entry function for strength training does not record calories and has a limited library of exercises. At least, you can create your own exercises. Also, this could give you more complete nutrition information for foods entered and better analysis of nutrition. Caffeine intake is lacking, for instance, and a breakdown of nutrients for each food appears to be only accessible on the web version. Still, this is a wonderful app made better with HealthKit integration.
