Some strong points, some very weak points

Been using MFP for a week now after having used LoseIt! for over 5 years. I switched to MFP because I heard the Fitbit/MapMyRide integration is better, which is true: if I wear my Fitbit for a non-pedestrian activity, it will compensate for the crazy Fitbit data, and tracks pretty accurately. I'm pleased with how well it works.

It comes with some downsides though, first and foremost being it's SUPER slow, even on my iPhone 6. I get the impression that the app is a front-end for an entirely hosted app, because it feels like it's downloading a lot in the background. Simple tasks like entering food take many more taps than it does with LoseIt!, even with "multi add" turned on. The UI isn't super intuitive; when you launch the app, the first screen is a nearly useless activity/blog feed, so extra taps are required to even get to actions. Generally, the whole thing feels like it was designed by people who don't actually use it.

I'm going to give it a few more weeks and see how it works out (no pun intended), but right now I'm pretty divided on whether it's worth it.

Exactly what I needed!

I have been interested in nutrition for most of my life and feel like I've been constantly aware of what I'm eating. A friend o mine talked me in to downloading this app a year ago but it wasn't until two weeks ago that I finally decided to give it a try. I love it! Very user friendly and easy to navigate even for the first time user. I can only think of one little detail that I would like to see improved: I wish that you could edit recipes directly from your meal diary (rather than having to go back to the recipe category). Eg: I have salad practically everyday so I have a recipe for it and just tweak ratios as needed. But it's a little thing. This app has taught me how I'm really eating which has been an eye opener. And I love keeping track of my macros and vitamin/mineral intake. My sisters and I all use this now and don't foresee looking for anything else.

Ok for how I use it

Could be better. My wife and I are on a keto diet and altered our goals based on higher fats and proteins and lower carbs. The free version only lets you set these goals via percentages and makes you subscribe to do that via grams, which doesn't make much sense to me given all the other functionality of the free version. Whatever.
What really sort of bothers me, though, is that when you click on the "Nutrition" box in Diary and look at your nutrients and macros, it doesn't calculate net carbs, only total carbs, even though it does show how much fiber you have taken in. Which bothers me because not calculating net carbs throws off your daily goals. So if you take in 40g carbs, but you had 20g of fiber, it still shows you at a surplus of 20g carbs for the day (if your goal is 20g carbs like mine) which isn't the case.
Still, it's a useful app for keeping me honest about what I'm eating during the day.
