What's New in Version 4.4

We’ve been working hard to make tracking calories as simple as possible, and have made some great new updates to the user interface in this release. We have a new section, Track, that combines the very best features of your MyPlate and Diary pages into one. Now, you can:
-Swipe quickly through to yesterday and any other day to track your day’s calories
-Swipe down to see a complete summary of all the food you’ve tracked for the day
-Instantly jump to another day to track by selecting a date from the calendar
-Track food, exercise, weight and water with a simple click

We’ve also redesigned the Track Food page to make it simpler than ever to track:

-When you track a food, it appears directly under your ‘Tracked for Today’ list, so you can quickly edit if you need to.
-The search bar and bar code scanner are placed very prominently for easy access
-Toggle between lists of Recently Eaten Foods, My Food, and My Meals with the touch of a button

This version looses the best feature!

If been using this faithfully every day for a very long time but I'm not happy with the latest versions:
1) you used to able to set a goal for how fast you wanted to loose )1lb/week, 1 1/2 lb/week,maintain, etc)
And it would adjust your calorie goal based on your weight etc. But now if you want lose weight, no matter how fast or slow it always says 1200 calories. I'm sure it's liability thing but that feature was the number one reason I bought the app. Please fix this!

I also don't like the new layout. I preferred to have the breakfast/lunch/etc bubbles on a separate tab and I want it to tell me what my current net calories are.

Please put it back the way it was!

But given all that the following is still true:

The app is really solid and easy to use. The database is extensive. You can enter the name of restaurant or manufacturer and it will pull up the exact data. There is a check mark if it's verified and it is usually correct. If you truly count everything you may find you at eating more than you thought. And you'll see why it's hard to makeup for it later. It takes the mystery out of dieting and gives you control. It can't give you willpower but at least it may give you understanding.

Will Not Sync Between More Than One Device

The 31 May 2014 version is as screwed up as all the rest. Nice pictures, but it fails to do basis functions like Sync. I have more than one device and can only keep one current. After the new version came out I synced my main device and lost three years of data. It zeroes out my account. I do not believe that any of the programmers use the APP. Maybe that should be a prerequisite for programming this APP. Guys, the sync always stops on loading water records, and the sync has taken hours and never move from that one spot.

The pictures are pretty. The new format may be great for a PC, but this is an APP on a mobile device, so condense the format.

This APP is all but useless to those that hVe more than one device or want to keep as historic database of progress. THREE YEARS OF DATA HAS BEEN LOST!!! Grrrr...

Pretty BUT update has 2 fatal bugs

This is a great resource for anyone looking to get a hold on their eating habits—I have been a user since 2010 and the latest facelift to the app is more efficient and user friendly. BUT there are currently two fatal flaws: 1) sync between desktop and mobile app is broken, forced mobile sync will only mess up your historical database (years of useful progress data lost); 2) the current mobile exercise database is not listing any calories burned requiring manual entry.

I loved this app, but have deleted from my iPhone 5s until an update addresses these two bugs. In the meantime I will be logging via a link to the MyPlate website—kudos to the programming team for a solid Web App update.
