Description

Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or someone who’s barely touched a camera, Camera+ 2 will make you love taking photos.

Camera+ 2 is the best and most powerful camera app available. A complete rewrite of the original Camera+ that sold over 14 million copies, Camera+ 2 is better, faster and stronger than ever.

A lot of things have happened in the 8 years since we first released the original Camera+. iPhone cameras have improved dramatically - not only in terms of sheer optical quality, but also in the array of technical and creative tools they provide. Manual controls, RAW capture, depth editing are a few of the capabilities whose presence in a mobile phone was unthinkable just a couple of years ago.

We decided it was time to rebuild Camera+ to prepare for the next 10 years of mobile photography. We rewrote everything from scratch to create a solid and modern foundation on which to incorporate the advances we'll see coming with every new iPhone release. The result of that effort is Camera+ 2, and we are incredibly proud of it. It preserves the personality of the classic app you love, and it will enable us to continue in our mission to provide you with the best and easiest to use tools to express your creativity and personality. We hope you like using Camera+ 2 as much as we loved creating it.

Here are some of the best features in Camera+ 2.

Everything Included
Camera+ 2 supports and adapts to iPhone and iPad. Use the same shooting and editing tools consistently across all your devices, and take advantage of multitasking in iPad. All features, filters and tools are included in your purchase for all platforms - no in-app purchases required.

Manual Controls
Photographers that need absolute control over their shots can use Camera+ 2’s advanced manual controls to select the precise settings they need. Shutter speed, ISO and White Balance can be selected using on-screen wheels and controls. In dual-lens devices, you can easily select Wide or Tele depending on your needs. The good thing about our manual controls is that they don't have to be present on-screen if you don't need them, so casual photographers are equally welcome.

RAW Capture and Editing
Enable RAW capture to get the exact image captured by the sensor at its full precision, to get the maximum flexibility while editing. Use our built-in RAW Editor to develop RAW images, or edit them on your computer with the tools you already use.

Depth Capture and Editing
In compatible devices (those with dual cameras, currently the iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 Plus or iPhone X), a Depth-capture mode is available. When you enable depth capture in Camera+ 2, the depth information is saved alongside the image, and the adjustments in The Lab section of the editor can be selectively applied to distant or close subjects.

Shooting Modes
Use the Smile mode to allow Camera+ 2 to detect smiles and shoot for you, or the Stabilizer mode to shoot only when your iPhone is steady enough to produce a sharp picture. The Slow Shutter mode provides you with the means to take long exposures, even in daylight. Burst and Timer modes complete our comprehensive offering of shooting modes for specialized purposes.

Best Photo Library Integration
Camera+ 2 editing tools can now be easily used on all the photos in your Photo Library. Switch between the Photo Library and the Lightbox by simply tapping a button. Or use drag and drop gestures on the iPad to copy or share photos. Files and iTunes integration are also available, so you can easily transfer pictures to your computer or other apps.

Faster and More Efficient
All-new editing tools rewritten from scratch take full advantage of the newest image processing technologies of iOS 11. We could discuss this at length but we think it suffices to say that we met our goal to make editing, sharing and exporting faster than ever.

What's New

Version 1.5

# Camera+ 2 v1.5

In addition to providing support for iOS 12 and the new iPhone XS and XS Max devices, we have taken the opportunity to add a few new features that we hope our customers will find very convenient.

## Compatible with iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max

Camera+ 2 is gorgeous in the new displays. All the advanced camera features you are used to (manual controls, RAW capture, dedicated shooting modes) work great in the new iPhones, and the extremely fast hardware makes it a joy to use.

## Siri shortcuts (iOS 12 only)

You can create Siri shortcuts for the actions you perform the most in Camera+ 2. For example, you can simply say "Hey Siri! Shoot selfie" instead of unlocking the device, launching the app, switching to the front-facing camera and tapping the shutter button. It's way more fun and significantly faster, especially when your phone is already at arm's length. It's also great when you don't want to touch the screen to avoid motion blur, such as when composing a slow shutter photo on a tripod. You can configure Siri shortcuts for the following actions:

. Shoot photo
. Shoot selfie photo
. Shoot macro photo
. Open camera
. Open the selfie camera
. Open the camera in macro mode
. View photos
. Edit the photo last taken
. Apply recent edits to the latest photo
. Save last photo

You can also use the iOS 12 Shortcuts app to combine these actions together and create voice commands that match your own personal workflow.

## Focus peaking

Let Camera+ 2 estimate what subjects in your frame are in focus, and forget the guesswork. This is especially useful for photographers that like to use manual focus, but also in lighting situations where the image in your viewfinder is not clear or contrasty enough. In order to enable focus peaking you need to disclose the manual focus controls. One way to do it is by tapping the viewfinder with two fingers, then tapping the square icon in the bar that appears below the viewfinder. Focus peaking is then represented by a cube icon that appears at the right of the focus distance wheel.

Focus peaking is available for both iOS 11 and iOS 12, and it's compatible with iPhone 6 or better.

## Configure your preferred save-to album in your Photo Library

Camera+ 2 is greatly integrated with the photos you already have in your Photo Library, so many people choose to ignore the Lightbox and simply shoot to the Photo Library and edit from there. To give those users additional flexibility, you can now choose what album you want to save to when you are shooting with Camera+ 2. Some people will use a specific Camera+ album until they decide the keepers among all the photos they shot, others might want to create event-specific albums before they even start capturing. And if you use iCloud integration, you'll appreciate that this setting allows better management and classification so your photos appear in a reasonable place in other devices.

## Copy, Paste and Undo edits in the Photo Library

Until now, those handy actions were only available for photos that you keep in your Lightbox. Starting with version 1.5, you can copy, paste or undo Camera+ 2 edits on photos that you already saved to your library. In order to copy and paste edits, you need to tap on the ellipsis icon (…) that appears in the Edits section of the detailed Info view.

## Configure your Launch Settings

There is no right or wrong way to use Camera+. Some people prefer it for shooting, others like its editing capabilities, and some prefer to shoot with their iPhone and edit in their larger-screen iPads. We have added a startup preference so you can select what section you want to see when the app first launches: Camera, Lightbox, Photo Library, or simply reuse the last section you visited. This only applies to fresh launches of the app - going to the background and resuming (or answering a phone call) will not take you away from the place you were in.

Editors’ Notes

Take, edit and organise pictures to perfection.

Only missing 1 thing to be perfect !

WotMPW

As an experienced macro, landscape and vintage photographer I know full well that no mobile camera or camera application will be anything close to what you can get from a mirrorless or dslr platform. Having said that, this app is easily my most go to camera application out of the dozens of legitimate apps on the market including the default iOS camera app. While the manual controls are relatively common place among camera apps, +2s control feel much more fine tuned and intuitive. It’s very difficult to perfect but easy learn and that’s one of the greatest selling points I have for it. I can find nearly every control in here that I can find within my 5D MkI within reason. Combine this application with VSCO and its a team that will beat out, in my honest opinion, any other App Store based photography system on the iOS platform. Now then, unless I’m missing it somewhere in the options and settings, the ONLY reason this app does not receive a 5 star rating is the lack of compatibility with the Apple Watch for remote shutter control and minor remote settings control. I know halide has watch compatibility but if the camera +2 integrated that as well I feel it would easily top the charts for an indefinite period of time.

Same issues as previous app but now slower

Lostlobster

Bought the new app hoping that if they released an entirely new app, at cost, maybe they finally fixed the one feature that makes the app interesting which is shooting & editing in RAW. Unfortunately this app suffers from the exact same issue the previous one did, that of blurry unusable photos (this is post-patch that claims it was fixed) if you choose RAW (on iphoneX). Did multiple tests and it’s definitely an app issue as both the HEIF image are blurry when you turn on RAW, soon as you disable you get sharp photos. From my testing it looks to be a processing issue, which brings up the new issue with this app, that of being frustratingly slow! Moving between elements of the app, switching shooting modes, all are so slow and clunky it makes the app a pain to use. Having paid for both versions now, My take is it is not worth the money to 1.not get reliable use of he advanced features and 2. Slow down your shooting experience over the native iphone camera app.
