What's New in Version 1.5.1
Canon has released a new application "Camera Connect" to replace CameraWindow. Please use "Camera Connect" to connect your Canon digital camera to smartphones and tablets.
Canon = failed apps
Previously it was sometimes a challenge to connect the camera through this app, but when the connection was made the app worked. Now it is more difficult to connect through the app, and then the connection is lost after one or two pictures or often before any download.
However, the new version of the app Canon wants you to use is more consistent; it has NEVER worked at all.
Why does a company as big as Canon generate such poor apps and not do anything to fix them? I like the pictures my camera takes, but these failed apps prevent it from being a wi-fi camera. Until these apps are fixed Canon does not have any wi-fi cameras.
East to use
This app is a simple way to interact with the pictures on your Canon camera and import them to your iPhone or iPad. I haven't been able to use the location tracker feature correctly yet, but I also haven't bothered to read the instructions.
You can only import 25 pictures at a time; I'd like to see a "select next 25" button to make importing large numbers of pictures go much faster.
I bought an SX700HS in July 2014. Loved this app until it stopped working. Purchased the camera for this feature. I also have a 70D for which I use the EOS app without difficulty (so far). The Canon connect app apparently doesn't support the 700, but supports the 710. I certainly won't buy a new camera because you don't support the app, but if I am unable to use the feature for which I bought the camera, I certainly my reconsider my loyalty to Canon. My camera 700 if far too young to no longer be supported.
