Half the checks don't deposit
This app used to work great. Recently, however, many of the checks i go to deposit are not accepted. The app tells me the amount entered does not match the check. It does not matter how many times i retake the photo the app still wont let me deposit the check.
It seems as if Capital One now only let the check go through if their software can recognize the handwriting. I mean these checks are reviewed anyway right? So why does the app need to recognize somebody's not so perfect handwriting.
I was very frustrated after talking to customer service and finding out that they can't do anything to help apart from telling you to reinstall the app which doesn't fix anything.
I would give it a five star review...
It's a cool app. I haven't used any other credit apps but this one was very user friendly. Easy to make payments and login as well with Touch ID.
The only thing that bugs me about the app is the notification of me signing out. It bugs me a lot even if it is a minor thing and there's no way to disable that certain notification other than by turning off every notification so that's why I gave it four stars.
Re-enter amount to match check
I could see if it misread hand written check amounts frequently. But if it is going to misread computer printed checks, why force me to match the random amount you think the check is for? And if I enter an amount that differs, why not rerun the optical recognition and see if it comes up with the matching amount? If I am re-entering the amount for verification, isn't it possible you are wrong? The answer is yes. And it is not only possible, but likely. In fact, it gets the amount wrong so frequently, the best guess is probably to assume it isn't the value you parsed.
