Good App, used for years, but statements?
Overall I've used the Capital One app since I've had my first iPhone. Each upgrade always seems to redesign the platform trying to make it easier to navigate. Credit Tracker is easier to locate on this new version where it's an actual button to click once logged in. Before you had to dig around a few spots to find it.
However I do have 2 issues - I'd like to be able to view my actual statement from the app. I have 4 cards (personal & business) with Capital One and I always like to double check my records against the "official" bill. I don't necessarily rely on the recent activity screen. Also, I want to see what cash versus credit limit I have available. I noticed it only displays credit.
As for those having trouble with payment information being wiped out I too had the same issue so I simply went to the desktop site and updated all my alerts and preferences and made sure my payment accounts were listed correctly. I was then able to successfully log back in on the app and make my payments as I have done for years.
Once those few flaws are ironed out I'd give it 5 stars.
Here we go. Only a matter of time before Capital One screws up what ING created. This is my money, my accounts. That is all I want. I want to see the money online and have control. So what in the world do you need to have my location information for? I'll tell you, ..for those that don't know. Selling your location, to make money off where you are under the guise of "helping you find thier locations." Enough is enough. And social networking? Social networking nonsense. Why is this even popular and what makes Cap One think it has anything to do with what online banking customers want? Also I have multiple accounts, all of which display two different balances now. The first balance is showed on the first overview screen, then click on each account and get a higher balance. NEVER the same. It is not showing me pending transactions or pending holds on checks I cashed. This makes me sign into the website through the Safari browser for accurate information. Is it only a matter of time before you screw up the services AND the website as well? Is this the sign of the dreaded ING takeover we all worried about? If you are lucky enough to have USAA, much better application. This move on the app makes me think its time to have a backup plan.
Was a great app! But now it won't work right!
Got a late payment charge because I went into the app and paid my bill like I have been for over a year. Used my stored account payment information & got a confirmation screen. Closed out, went about my business. Cap 1 has no record of this transaction. Got an email 5days later saying my payment was past due but I paid it through the app. So I log back into the app try to go make another payment and all my stored information is gone. The app now won't let me add back on my payment account information so I can pay my bill and keeps telling me that payment account already exists. Tried to uninstall app, hard boot phone & reinstall. Nope still does it. Thankfully Cap 1 customer service forgave the late fee & noted what happened. Don't trust the app! I should not have and that is my fault for not verifying a second time that my original payment went through the but usually you think you are good to go when a confirmation screen is presented to you. Like I said been using the app for about a year no issues till the recent update and now I can't use it since I can't add back in my payment account information to pay my bill. So what's the point!
