Great, if it weren't for cheaters
I really enjoy this game, but probably 40% of the people I play against are blatantly cheating. After playing against multiple people who are submitting 9-to-12-letter words, almost INSTANTLY, I realized that something was wrong. A quick Google search lead me to a few different websites which allow you to input any sequence of letters, and will then spit out all possible words that can be created using those letters. It's no doubt that people are using services like this to win at Capitals, given the fact that there's no time limit for a player's turn. Players have unlimited time to go and find the best possible word to play, by any means necessary, apparently. This totally ruins it for people who are actually looking for a challenge and some friendly competition. Hopefully the developers implement a time limit for turns soon!
Good game--one big problem
I've been playing Nimblebit games for years and have loved them. This game is also a fun take on normal scrabble-like games. There is, however, one giant problem which led me to stop playing within a day of starting: there's no free life refills. Most games, your life meter will slowly refill over time and you can choose to watch an ad or pay money if you're impatient. When I used up my lives in this game, I was puzzled not to find a count down to my next life. I watched an ad or two, then decided to wait a few days to see if my lives refilled. They have not. I'm sorry, Nimblebit, but forcing us to either watch an ad or pay money every time we want to play the game is not a good business model. I know you need to make money, but taking away "choice" will just lead to many people abandoning the game. Please let me know if you change your minds.
For those getting discouraged from playing due to some bad reviews, don't. Just don't. The concept of the game is great and clearly loads of changes have been made. You can now watch videos for lives. Is it annoying? Yes, but it also means we no longer have to pay and ad revenue will help the developers which do need to be paid. Also, instead of randomly throwing ads at you, they only appear when you click to watch one. I'm also quite a fan of the slower pace. The fact that we can strategise more makes it a lot more interesting. My only real issue is that names are accepted as words and some real words haven't been accepted. Not a 5 star game but it's definitely getting there.
