Card Thief is a solitaire style stealth game played with a deck of cards.
In Card Thief you move through a deck of cards as a stealthy thief. Sneak in the shadows, extinguish torches, pickpocket guards and steal valuable treasures without getting caught.
Card Thief, the official follow up to Tinytouchtales excellent dungeon crawler Card Crawl, attempts to condense the classic stealth genre into a solitaire style card game.
The game offers an accessible core gameplay with a deep layer of tactical planning and various risk reward mechanics on top. In 4 different heists you can test your skills against various enemy and trap types. By successfully completing heists you can unlock and upgrade 12 equipment cards each with a unique ability to improve your highscores.
+ Solitaire style gameplay
+ 4 heists each with different enemy and obstacle types
+ 12 unlock able and upgradable equipment cards
+ Mini deck building
+ Daily Heist with global highscores
+ Deep tactical planning for fans of the stealth genre
+ 2-3mins playtime per game

A big step up from 'Crawl'
Card Crawl is one of my favorite mobile games, and this is a worthy sequel. It's definitely more complex — there are many more "rules", and even after the tutorial I had only a vague idea of what was going on. Revisiting it after playing a full game helped a lot. I'm finding it fun to deduce the mechanics that aren't in the tutorial, but it might frustrate some. I'm still a rank newbie who's only barely survived the first level, but I can see there's a lot of strategy involved in playing well.
In every area this builds on Card Crawl's strengths. The art and animation are even better, and as before there are lots of power-ups to save up for and buy. (I did find the music a bit overbearing and turned it off, but I do that with 90% of games.)
Great take on card games
Well worth the flatter! Having finished most of the game (my only incentives are to max out the final equipment, which I can't do right now), I can honestly say that Card Thief is a worthy journey. My only gripe is that the difficulties of some of the upgrades are inconsistent. Sometimes the descriptions are too esoteric (for me), but my main issue is that the level of difficulty fluctuates drastically. At least one early upgrade isn't available until the last dungeon.
Still, the gameplay is top-notch, especially for the price point. Now, I may check out Card Crawl!!
GREAT game, BUT...
This is wonderful. Pitch perfect presentation and graphics. Music and sound is nice but not amazing. Gameplay is pretty simplistic in terms of control, but very deep. Price point is almost too cheap; I feel they could've easily charged a couple dollars more.
However, there are some problems. Why can't I swipe my path? It seems far more natural than having to tap everything individually. Also, even after playing the tutorial multiple times I STILL don't 100% understand the basic mechanics. It leaves out some incredibly important details, such as guard movement.
The biggest issue right now is this seems to be a massive battery drainer. Both my iPad mini 4 and my iPhone 7 drops FAST when playing this game, though I noticed no overheating. For a game as graphically simple as this there's no excuse for such poor battery performance.
Fix these issues and this will be a five star game no problem. As is I still think it's a must buy. Just keep a charger handy!
