Energy Savings Event capabilities: Your Carrier® Côr™ now has the ability to participate in peak time energy savings events when you enroll in a Demand Response program with your utility. Before the event starts, you will see an alert that notifies you about it and once it starts, you will see “EVENT” on the home screen and have the ability to opt-out if you are uncomfortable. Note: If you are not enrolled in a program, you won’t see these events. Eligibility of your thermostat will depend on the utility program’s terms and conditions.

Ratings and Reviews
I bought a new construction home with 2 Cor thermostats ( first floor and second floor). I had a nest early generation in my previous home and liked it. But since my AC was carrier, I didn’t remove it and gave it a try. After 5 months I’m replacing both thermostats, I large part due to the app. I found the app to be slow to load, and the landscape only mode for the interface was tedious. Also, I trying to set a schedule, I thought the program for a certain day was being saved but it turned out it wasn’t and it took several try to get the schedule to be saved properly. I saw no advantage in what my nest could do, and I liked the interface of the app much better. Also, one of the thermostats was defective, and there was no way of deleting that thermostat from the app. It just showed up on my main screen as being disconnected. Overall, a terrible app that clearly didn’t have very much thought put into it.
Consider another thermostat/app combination
I too enjoy the ability to control the thermostat using my iPhone. However, this app oftentimes does not function properly. The app will often report an inaccurate interior temperature and will not change the temperature setting on the thermostat after you have changed it via the app. I will have to close the app completely, including background, and reopen the app to get an accurate reading, and then control the thermostat. Another annoying lack of development, is the app only has a landscape view, negating an ability to open and operate using a single hand. These developers obviously do not use their own products. Bottom line, if you enjoy the ability to control your thermostat from your iPhone, consider another thermostat/app combination.
Last update makes things worse
There is now no way to know from the app whether the system is cooling, heating or even working. Please fix this and put the system operating status info back on the home screen like it was before. All you can do now is change the temp, cross your fingers and wait. Why did you break something that was not broken?
Newest version once again shows the system status (cooling, heating, fan) on the home screen. Thank you for the quick fix for this!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
