Attack his weapons supplies or fortify my defenses? Burn his wood supplies or hire another wizard? Your next move will determine your fate…
Step into the world of Castle Combat, a card strategy game set in medieval times. Opposing castles battle it out to reach supremacy.
Carefully think through your strategies to become the ruler of the land. Be the aggressor and try to decimate your opponent by demolishing his castle, or play defensive and build up your own fortress.
A simple game to play, but deep in strategy. Take one of many routes to be the most powerful one of all.
Play single player against the computer, challenge your friends in a pass and play two player mode, play online with unknown opponents or challenge your friend across the globe.
Featuring 3D rendered graphics, a fitting soundtrack, OpenFeint multiplayer challenges and leaderboards, this will be your favorite time-waster in no time at all.
Decent Castle Wars clone.
There are no bells or whistles here, but care has been taken to make the graphics detailed enough so as to not look terribly cheap. If you are familiar with Castle Wars and its clones, there is nothing new here.
Of significant note is the internet multiplayer feature which makes up for a not particularly challenging AI.
My main complaint is so far is the difficulty with which it is to distinguish the tiny blurry graphic on each card that represents how much of whichever resource is expended for the card's effect. For that matter, the cards themselves are very bland and colorless and could use some serious enhancement to help distinguish them clearly.
I would love to see animation related to the effect of the cards. The castles and fence do change heights but there is no graphical representation of the card's effects. When casting lightning, I want to see a cloud zapping the opponent's castle and bricks flying away explosively. Stuff like that!
I hope this game continues to be developed, but I don't see any sign of such interest from the developer.
I absolutely love Castle Wars and clones. There are precious few, so I am always excited to try a new one.
Castle Combat now sits comfortably on my home screen next to TowerLand, Strongholds and Dungeon Solitaire. Though it is nowhere near as complex and developed as those three (think Castle Wars 1.0), it's definitely worth its 99 cent cost for any fan of this neglected game type.
Castle Wars (flash game) clone
Not bad for a clone, but needs deeper strategy and smarter AI. As long as you focus on your magic stat, it's hard to lose. It's virtually impossible to win with a 100 point castle because there is no big point upgrade for the castle. If some of this is addressed, I'd recommend it.
Great start, just needs a little tweaking. Such as animations, a few more sounds and able to continue the game if your interupted instead of starting over. Add these things and this game could be awesome. I love card based stratagy games, and the istore needs more of them.
