Ratings and Reviews
Deleted immediately. Bad form CBS
I like many others here I’m extremely disappointed with this app, the structure CBS has set up for a paid app and service, and CBS in general. It is almost unheard of for me to write such a scathing review, but I feel I must speak. Perhaps I’m not CBS’s demographic, but as a 42-year-old man I can’t imagine that I’m not within their target. My dad loves CBS. but he’s 81 years old. When they finally get a good show, they have no idea what to do with it. Supergirl, showed a lot of promise and they had to sell to The CW who actually have the Fanbase to sustain the show. Like other people here I was excited at the prospect of a new Star Trek series. However I refuse to pay CBS one dime, Much less for the kind of frustrating experience with advertisements and glitches that I read here. I can’t watch anything for free to sample the app, and I refuse to pay for what I see in the reviews. To CBS: You make viewing the only couple shows I’ve been interested on your network so absolutely frustrating, but I will not watch them and not pay ing you to do so. Get your act together with your shows, stop Gouging and frustrating your audience. And produce some shows that And generate enough ad revenue to support themselves. Looks like I will continue my friend I’m not supporting your network, even when you launch an interesting show which is still rare for you.
I‘m paying too much in 2018...
... CBS All Access... is not ALL.. eg JAG you only allow access to some 83 of 229 or so Episodes, you didn‘t even manage to include every part of two parters! [eg the season finale of season one goes straight to season 2 without completing the story ... considering Harm has been arrested for multiple murders... lets just say it‘s very sloppy of your sales dept to do this ... I stoped my original subscription because the main reason I‘d signed up, was so I could finally watch the entire series!! I gave all access another chance bc of the new Star Trek Discovery.... I figured by now, several years later, you‘d probably have fixed the problems like missing episodes and seasons. NOPE!! Now I will cancel again until I can watch Season 2 of StarTrek..
I would keep the subscription year-round if you fixed both the issue with your missing content AND fix the Apple TV App that keeps searching for my geographic location several times in a single episode and therefore keeps crashing Apple TV 4... I have to Restart not just CBS but Apple TV itself at least 1-3 times per episode - so with the exception of Star Trek Discovery, your content isn‘t worth the bother... the series are wonderful, many of them, but binge-watching on your AppleTV App is too frustrating!!!
Rampant with Ads and glitches
CBS needs to invest in some better developers for their app. The app in its current form is a complete scam. It doesn’t recall where you left off in the show and when you try to find your place, you’re required to watch additional commercials, in excess of the normal amount built into the show. The app already forces you to watch an absurd amount of two-minute commercial clips. When closing the app, even just for a minute, it completely clears out where you were in the app. The app resets and you have to navigate the menu to get back to the episode you were watching. If you need to exit the app and come back, be prepared to watch another commercial. If you need to exit during the commercial, it starts over again. I’ve spent double the amount of time watching commercials as I did watching the show. The casting feature is inconsistent and nonfunctioning. At one point it froze and actually shut down my whole chrome cast system, having to restart. When I tried to pick up where I left off, the app didn’t bring me back to the correct place and I had to watch commercials to get where I was. This app is just poor quality compared to other tv apps... CBS should take a lesson from NBC which is a high quality, intuitive app that leads to a much better viewing experience.
