This news junkie loves this app!

so sad right now

Now, i must admit that I get annoyed from time to time with a few bugs I have noticed lately. The feed can be herky jerky and unreliable at times. Still, I give the app, and CBS, five stars for providing mostly free streaming news content 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It's my go-to app for late-breaking news, press conferences, 60 minutes, and so forth, and I use it at home and at work. I don't know why the other networks haven't caught on yet, but this is the best model around as more people cut the cable cord. I'm sure CBS will get around to fixing the streaming issues here and there, but I am impressed overall and appreciate that they don't ask for me a cable provider (because I don't have one).

CBS NEWS Streaming

I love this 23/7 show!!!! Even though it gets repetitive after awhile, I know I will always get up to date information as it happens! I love the interviews they do with experts, in the field, and pundits so I can see both sides. The newscasters are extremely professional. I like and respect all of them. Major Garrett has a spectacular podcast that I watch on this show. I love the informality and like to see what foods people choose. (I do worry about Major’s diet, lol). If i miss some of his show or all of it, I know it will be repeated. I really appreciated CBSN and missed it terribly when I could not get it on my phone for some reason. I also like that they try to represent different nationalities, races, etc. on the show.

Solid, But With Annoyances

David B. Parker

I just came back to complain about this, forgetting that I already had several years ago. One well, I guess they don't care, but There's no need to change it:

In my few times using this app it appears to be, for the most part, a solid and well-put-together news app. It has, however, a few things that bother me. The first is that I prefer to use the app in portrait mode, and it works well in either landscape or portrait orientation. Unfortunately, when you play a video it switches to a full-screen horizontal view every time. Nobody wants to keep rotating their iPad for every single video so, please, give us the choice of switching only if we want to. Usually, for me, it's not necessary. Also, it would be great if we knew how long a video was before we hit the play button. Nice to know what we're getting into.
