Multiple testing options and constantly updated maps make this app the easiest and most comprehensive source for improving your mobile experience.

• See the number of tests completed by location and operator.
• Compare your network’s true performance against other networks with interactive call performance and data speed maps.
• Comprehensive speed test for download and upload throughput
• Report dropped calls, poor signal strength, and slow data issues.
• Choose whether you want to do a single test at a time or set the app to do continuous testing.
100% FREE. No annoying advertisements or in-app purchases.

Crowdsourced results contributed by users of our app have been a valuable part of our mobile performance CoverageMap. Apple’s recent release of iOS 8.3, however, has altered our ability to access and display your test results.

The release of version 2.4.4 of the app fixes the issue preventing Data Speed test results from properly displaying on the map. We’re still working to correct the remaining issues preventing display of Call Performance and Network Technology results on the map.

We appreciate your patience while we get things sorted.

Amazingly Addictive App

This is a fantastic app that everyone should use before making a decision on a major cellular provider; there's nothing as good as seeing real world test results.

I love that I can directly contribute to the CoverageMap by running my own tests. I'm addicted to testing all the slow and untested areas around myself; I've gamified the app into a way to explore the cities around myself and see areas I wouldn't otherwise have visited. I'd love it if Root Metrics allowed each app the option to start out with an untested map, that way each person could explore every part of their surroundings and work towards that goal like a game.

See how other carriers stack up

Great app to view cell phone signal strength and data speeds from other carriers. If sample data isn't available or accurate for your wireless carrier just make sure you have a gps lock and report network stats with your phone! Results usually show up within an hour and are averaged in with everyone else's reports to create a more accurate map.

The last update was a downgrade.

*** just a follow up.

This application was useful once upon a time. But for some reason the developers decided to report the best possible signal everywhere you go. That biased reporting alone makes this app completely useless.

To make this worse you can no longer test only the voice signal without testing and using your data to contribute to the map. I'm not using my limited data just because they don't want to separate the two functions anymore.

Further, the results are dishonest. Originally this app was useful. Then they decided to only report the best results per measured area. This is intellectually dishonest, and condemned the app to the digital landfill.

Folks using this app are interested in results which describe encountered network performance conditions, not the 'best performance ever recorded results.' Another American innovation ruined by greed and cronyism.
