By Charity Navigator, Inc.
This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.
Charity Navigator is the most-utilized charity evaluator in America. This app helps guide intelligent giving by providing ratings for nearly 7,800 charities based on their financial health, accountability and transparency. You can also find basic information for the rest of the 1.4 million U.S. nonprofits. Charity Navigator accepts no advertising or donations from the organizations it evaluates, ensuring unbiased evaluations, nor does it charge the public for this trusted data. As a result, Charity Navigator, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) public charity itself, depends on support from individuals, corporations and foundations that believe it provides a much-needed service to America's charitable givers.
What's New in Version 2.5
Today is Giving Tuesday. Lots of appeals in the email today. I go to investigate one, get it on the list, click on it for more data other than the stars, and the app crashes. Multiple times on both iPhone and iPad, both up to date with software.
Since this is a main function of CN, a charity itself, what rating would it get? I have been a donor to CN up to now. Won’t be if this is not fixed quickly. From the ratings of the app I see that I am not alone.
It’s an Apple issue
Received this email in answer to my inquiry about crashing app:
From: Tech Support (Support staff)
Apple made changes in iOS 11 that broke our application as well as others. They have rejected several updated versions we have submitted but we hope to get one approved soon. At that point, the app should update and work again.
Please let me know if you have any other questions,

The app no longer works—I enter a charity name, select one from a list that comes up, and the app shuts down. (iPhone with the latest versions of the iOS and the app installed.) It appears this app has not been updated in over a year. Unfortunately, I’m deleting this app for now, but glad that the website lookup still works well.
