iPhone OS 3.0 compatible
This app is ok. It's quite stable which is a huge plus when playing any sort lengthy strategy game. That said there are some definite flaws. The hint feature should ultimately show moves and series of moves that win the match for you. This never seems to be the case. More frustrating is that it can be quite difficult to move pieces where you want them to move, especially in Backgammon. Lastly and perhaps worst of all, the levels seem abnormally difficult. It would be interesting to hear a good to expert player's take on this but it seems that levels newcomer and above are extremely challenging while those below are quite a bit more challenging than they should be.
I wanted to like this app...
But I don't. Their claims of being for beginers is bogus. If you are one I'd suguest staying away from this as it dosen't teach a thing. There are just some scenarios to go through and that's about it, no rule set, no instructionals, just "here you go, figure it out". On top of it all I spenty first 5 min trying to move a piece. As a designer this is a fail for a game that revolves around moving pieces. it takes me tapping the spot i want 12-18 times before it registers. I'm not a beginer but I was expecting to learn something based off the description of the game. The gfx look nice, but they should have hired an interface designer instead of a 3d artist. Find another chessgame folks.
Even comes with backgammon! Not a great game for beginners tho, doesn't explain rules just tells u what u can + can't move. Great game!! Chess is really fun and I haven't had a problem yet!
Ignore the other mean remarks if u like chess u like this game period. And as for not being able to see/touch pieces u can zoom in/out and put up a magnifying glass.
Great graphics and music 2.
