Free food on 12 days of Christmas

Dear Chick-fil-a: your app is better than the competition’s such as McDonald’s or Wendy’s. The reason why is because they offer free food. Nobody just gives away free food like Chick-fil-a. This app is the reason why I drive 3 miles past McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, KFC, Taco Bell, Jack in the Box, Carl’s JR, any type of restaurant, or the grocery store just to get food. Since September I have spent $100 using this app-it’s December now. I’m a Silver member and I’m on track to becoming a Red member in summer of 2020. It would be sooner but I would get sick of your food. I go to chick-fil-a literally 10x more than I would without the app; that is not an exaggeration.

This app is an excellent broad cost differentiation business strategy. It is great for customer retention and I can tell that it’s design for customer retention. It attracts young people in their 20’s like me and turns them into exceptionally loyal customers. The best part is my beliefs and views don’t always align with Chick-fil-a’s. I just think that Church and Business should be separate just like Church and State. I also think that separation of Church and Business would be better for business. Just imagine how much revenue you would earn if open on Sunday. Imagine opening a Chick-fil-a in a country like India where they don’t like eating cows as well? This is all possible. But I still respect chick-fil-a’s beliefs and values and I still support their right to do so.

Keep doing what you are doing with this app. If it weren’t for this app then I would probably go to chick-fil-a like 3 times a year. Now I visit chick-fil-a up to 3 times a month.

The only thing that I don’t feel right about is the fact that Chick-fil-a only offers this free food to people with the mobile app (I.e only people with smart phones). Not to poor people who can’t afford a phone or homeless people who don’t have phones. I have a iPhone and I’m not starving. If Jesus were here then I’m sure he would give his bread and fish to poor/homeless people and not to people well off enough to afford an iPhone. Chick-fil-a does have charity programs on their app. But they need to go beyond that. They should offer customers the option to donate money to feed the hungry when they make a purchase. I would add an extra dollar to some of my purchases if this option were available especially if it was used to feed the poor. I just feel so spoiled when I pick up free food, and I’m not going to go out and give it to a homeless person because it’s just too delicious to resist. Don’t stop giving away free food because it’s good for customer retention. But make it easy to donate to charity with purchase. I could be donating a dollar to charity when picking up free food.

Curbside waiting

Wish I could choose my delivery method once I arrive at the restaurant. I try to use drive thru but sometimes it’s a crazy long line which is not convenient

Needs Clearer Direction on Placing Orders

Imagine placing an order for breakfast on your app, flying to get there in time, arriving to Chick-fil-A at 10:30 on the dot, sitting in line and then being told there’s no more breakfast. I think there needs to be a blurb stating even if you order breakfast, if you’re behind someone placing a long order in the drive thru line, your order will be denied.
