EDIT: they’ve responded to my review claiming my “case” is under review. This is false & obviously an attempt to make it seem like they care about what sitters say. They never responded to my emails not even once. I offered to give them documentation proving I was at the hospital w my niece and got no response. So as a sitter proceed w caution please.
My account was taken down after I had to cancel a booking bc my 3 year old niece was hospitalized the day before. No other family was available to be with her immediately besides me. I had to cancel the booking and gave as much notice as possible (keep in mind they give amazing incentives to any sitter who takes last minute bookings so they find someone almost immediately). After asking what warrants my account being deleted they stated “any cancellation that doesn't directly obstruct your ability to do a sitting is automatically considered unexcused”
I’m sorry but a toddler being in the hospital thats a blood relative doesn’t directly obstruct my ability to babysit? It’s sick & unfair. I have done so many sittings, 5 star rating, nothing but positive reviews/feedback. They don’t care about the sitters whatsoever.
Good pay- money goes into your bank account 3-5 days after sitting, but don’t miss a booking unless you want your account taken down. You can’t reapply until after a month after deletion. Absolutely disgusting.

great for parents, horrible for sitters
They pay sitters much less than the going rate for major cities, so if I were a cheap parent I would probably love it because you don’t have to waste time doing sitter interviews. It’s like one of those taxi apps but for babysitting. however, not only do they take 10% from sitters’ pay, but parents can literally book a sitter for only a couple hours per night and if you set yourself available, you HAVE to take it! so you could be stuck making only 30 dollars in one night compared to $100+ if you used other apps like urban sitter. For parents, it’s great because they can get away paying 18$ for two kids in Manhattan when they really should be paying minimum 25$. For sitters, there’s better options out there.

Chime has changed the childcare seeking game. Their customer service is impeccable - always super helpful when you need a last minute sitter, or to help with an account issue. And as parents, our primary concern: the sitters: are of the best quality. I’ve always had a five star experience. Nothing less. I can’t recommend this app enough. I’ll never use another service again. I never doubt for a second that my son is in good hands with your sitters, and peace of mind is priceless. Thank you, Chime!!!!!
